Hi everyone & LL Administrators:



In the November 27, 2007 LL News Release (see Press section under "About Us" heading on LL website main page), a new communications feature was announced and included the following statement:



"Luxury Link is offering a free and easy way for their site visitors to connect directly with properties thus eliminating potential breakdowns in the reservation process. In addition to dialing toll-free numbers, potential travel buyers can now initiate an instant phone conversation either through their PCs or by immediate callback to a mobile or landline phone with the use of VoIP technology."



I wonder if anyone on the LL Community has found this feature and how to use it. I've looked everywhere on the site and have checked the websites of several properties currently featured as offerings on LL. So far, I've not been able to find where and how to use the new feature. I am assuming that since LL sent out a Press Release on this new initiative in late November, they would not have done so unless the feature was already available and in operation. As a frequent user of VoiP to reach faraway places, I'm eager to do so using the new VoiP feature announced by LL.

Hi Curtiejoe. I have seen the new feature on almost all properties I have been watching. It is a toll free number on the right side of the page. Check out the Caribbean and Central America properties. Most of the toll free feature. I think I will try it just to see how it works. At first I thought it was the individual property but then realized the properties all had the same number!!! Wonder where it goes? Has anyone out there tried it yet to reserve a property?

curt, this is the new technology mentioned earlier in another thread. I have already tried it, just to try it. It's a great feature. I'm surprised luxury link has publicized this feature more aggressively on their home page. Go ahead and try it yourself. It's a toll free call.

I've just checked out several LL offerings in South America and am pleased to see a toll free number for US and Canada residents to call. The number appears in different places on different properties' websites. I noticed that the number is not always the same. For exmple: 1-866-527-0957 for Inka Terra in Peru, 1-800-784-4173 for Bahia Azul, Costa Rica, 1-866-492-1307 for Ariau Amazon in Brazil. and 1-877-709-8708 for Chaa Creek in Belize. The main thing is that there is a toll-free number to call! I have not yet called any property using this new LL feature. Don't know though how this will work over VoiP.

Hello everyone. I did try to call the toll free number about a property in the US. I had a few specific questions about rooms, etc. The man who answered was very nice but I don't believe belonged to the property. It seemed like my response received was just a pat answer with no checking? Kind of confused me? Because I need to know specifics, I didn't feel that comfortable. Wish we could find out where the toll free number went; to Luxury Link or to the hotel?



LL editors: Any assistance with these toll free numbers??? This might help handle our expectations when we call. THANKS!

Hi bonniejoy and everyone



I've tried calling the Toll-Free numbers provided by LL as a new feature for properties offered on this website. I had mixed results. Out of the four calls I tried, two took me to the property in question, while two ended up elsewhere: one at Sun-Life Financial and the other at the State of Virginia's 511 service for highway traffic conditions. Very strange!



Of the ones that connected, one led to a voice mail message saying everyone at the Chaa Creek Lodge in Belize was busy but if I left a message someone would get back to me. The other call made to the Bahia Azul resort at Jaco Beach in Costa Rica was answered in person by Mario, a delightful staff member who spoke excellent English and eagerly answered all my questions about the property. He also offered a lot of other useful information without being asked, such as the names of good restaurants and bars along the beach, the names of some usefuk weblinks for local tours and attractions, as well as Costa Rica-wide tourist information. In this instance, the Toll-Free number provided was an absolutely great new tool. Congrats to LL, though they do need to work on ensuring all the numbers provided work properly.
