Re: CLICK TO CALL (NEW LL FEATURE)
Great job curtiejoe. I guess I should have asked my guy where he was located (maybe out to lunch.) So glad that you talked directly to the properties especially with the toll free number. (ps-wonder if that same number is on their web site or did they answer it as Luxury Link?). Wonder why your other toll free numbers went to non travel properties??!! I guess it will be hit or miss.

Trying out a new service on your own is the best way to find out how well it works. In my case, 2 out 4 ain't that bad and the one conversation I had with Mario at the Bahia Azul in Costa Rica shows how amazingly good it can be! So, from now on, I'm going to use this new Toll-Free phone service whenever I can here on LL. As you say though, it'll be interesting to find out who answers and where they're actually located. It may be that some of these numbers are to call centers in some remote part of the world that's thousands of miles from the actual LL property in question. We'll see!

Re: CLICK TO CALL (NEW LL FEATURE)
Hi Community,
This is a new feature on our site that we are very excited about.
LuxuryLink is hosting a call forwarding service which connects you directly to thehotel. The call is toll free if you are in the U.S.& Canada, which is whywe have the numbers for U.S.& Canadaas well as International.
Because this number is hosted by Luxury Link itis different from the hotel's direct number, which may be reason for someconfusion.
Let me know if there are any other questions, and we hope you will all findthis to be a helpful feature of our site.
Thanks,
Katie

Re: CLICK TO CALL (NEW LL FEATURE)
Hi katie
Appreciate your clarification of the new LL service. I've recently tried it for several LL properties, as set out in my post on this Board. While the results so far have been a bit mixed, I'm encouraged by the fact that we now have a direct (and free)means of communicating with prospective travel properties around the world. I'm just not clear on how skype technology factors into the equation. Perhaps you could explain. Thanks.

Re: CLICK TO CALL (NEW LL FEATURE)
Hello,
Any chance that this could be extended to people who don't live in the US / Canda? Skype is supposed to enable worldwide calling so at least in theory there's no reason why people over here shouldn't be able to access the service for free as well.
Cheers,
Julian

I really appreciate using this feature to directly contact the properties. I have just recently started calling more and more of the properties directly to get a lot of my questions answered. Not only do I get real time answers but it doesn't cost anything for the call.
Anyone else out there using this feature?

Re: CLICK TO CALL (NEW LL FEATURE)
I used to for a Guatemala property and was SOOOO happy. It was much easier and quicker than email. I was able to speak with the new manager and have my questions answered immediately. It was a great experience!!!

bonniejoy03...without a doubt, the addition of this call feature had greatly enhanced the LL experience. We also used the US direct call numberson several occasions for Guatemala, speaking directly with some of the samehotel personnel to whom you spoke, rather than a isolated reservations center. This enabled us to establish some specific information regarding schedule activities included in the packageand arrange for airport transfers as well (thereby expediting our transit through the arrival maze and being on our way to the hotelwithin minutes of clearing customs....Nothing beats seeing your name on a sign when arriving at a foreign airport for the first time). A telephone call from our driver to the hotel facilitated a smooth arrival at the property, bypassing the front desk and being whisk directly to our suite, where out welcome drinks awaited followed by a brief walking tour of the suite and adjacent facilities. We were presenteda menu and invited to stop by the lounge later to meetthe front desk manager and his staff. As we had previously conveyed our allergiesto feathers, the suite had been refitted with foam pillows and conventional blankets for our use.
We are not as confident email exchanges could have been as effective.
We are in in regular communications with the general manager of a new LL package wehave purchased who is sharing weather history and general patterns to assist in organizing asuitablewardrobe. The good news is they offer complementary laundry services whichwill substantially lessen our need for over packing. The manager suggested we wait until the last minute to makeout final clothing selection based upon their local short range weather forecast.- Ω -
