Color designation - What does this mean
I noticed different colors being used at this point to designate member status, blue and purple, bold and regular. Is there an explanation for this?? LL administrator/moderator please explain.

Hi there lhbrown - and thanks for the question.
The color of a user's name is tied to their user ranking - and what type of a contibutor they are.
Each type of ranking carries a different color.
The ranking a user receives is based on a number of factors: the number of posts, minutes spent in the Community, message ratings by other users, and so on.
Since the community is new, we are waiting until the end of the month to assess this user ranking (type and color) - and it should be a lot clearer soon.
But you raise an important point, and we are addressing it as I write this.
As you know, at the end of the quarter we will select the top contributrors and award them 'VIP Member' status - which includes a number of perks.
So soon after the new year, users will have a clearer idea of the correlation between their Community participation and their contributor status.
Also, you should now be able to rate every message post.
Please let us know if this is not the case.
Regards,

LL Moderator_jh,
Thank you for your kind reply and explanation. No, I am still not able to invoke the rating system on my screen. I still need an explanation on how to do it. I see it seems to work now for a lot of other contributors. I appreciate your help. Thank you.

Hi LL Moderator:
Thanx for your answer to L. Brown, as it explains a couple of things I've been wondering about since recently joining the Community. I know you're very busy tweaking this new and exciting interactive feature on LL and trust that answers (e.g. difference between a "Trusted" and a "Regular" contributor) to some of my other queries will also be provided as time permits.

Thank you LL moderator for explaining the new system. As a "newbie" myself all of this discussion is fascinating to me. I just can't wait for my first LL travel to take place - 2 trips purchased dates in place too!!! The waiting is murder. Thanks for these wonderful opportunities to travel less expensively!

LL_Moderator_jh, my color has changed at least twice in the past three or four days, and I can't see that my contributor ranking has changed. Someone in the community wrote me that I had become a VIP Contributor, but I never got an email from your guys. Can you tell me where I can find the different rankings listed? I have look everywhere and cannot find that information. Thank you.

Re: Color designation - What does this mean
Hi Mountie
I think that you need to wait to receive the e-mail from the LL Moderators. When it comes it will be very clear that you have moved from Regular Contributor to VIP Contributor. The colors do look different on different days, so you should pay more attention to the title instead of the color. I know in my case I was notified a week before the title changed on LL Community. As for the list you are looking for, I really don't think that it exists. Everyone has looked for it at one time or another, but it is nowhere to be found. I think the LL Moderators want to be able to choose VIP as they find just with no borders.
