Current Oberoi Hotels Offerings

Hi LL Moderators/Editors:

Is there a mistake with the pricing of the Oberoi Resorts offerings? I know that they are wonderful, and I know that they are expensive, but there seems to be a discrepancy between the super-high "Buy Me Now" prices at Luxury Link and the rather-high prices for the same packages at the Oberoi web site. Check this out:

1) The Regal Romance of India Package: including 8 nights at the Udaivilas in Udaipur and 2 nights at the Oberoi resort in Mumbai, plus some extras such as spa treatments, meals and guides/drivers - the packages both here and at the Oberoi site (linked to through Luxury Link) appear to be exactly the same, yet the price at LL is $27,000 and the price at Oberoi is either $9,000 or $13,500 depending on the season.

2) Oberoi India - India in Luxury Package: including a total of 14 nights in various Oberoi resorts plus a bunch of bells and whistles (this sounds like a fantastic trip, by the way!) There isn't a price listed at the Oberoi web site for that particular itinerary but I am guessing it totals less than the $22250 listed here at Luxury Link? Consider an average of $600-800/night for the various hotels plus some meals, guides, drivers, etc. it adds up but shouldn't be northward of $20000.

If I am wrong, I apologize, but these prices just don't make sense to me.

The reason for the confusion here is because Luxury Link works on the 2 personprice, while they do a per-person price.

(Therefore, $13,500 x 2 = $27,000.)

Thanks for clarifying! It still sounds high, but at least we know it is on par with the offerings on the Oberoi web site.

I've looked into booking the Oberois directly several times, and I've only ever seen a room price, not a per person price.

Just received this month's Conde Nast Traveler and once again the Oberoi resorts are ranked high (#2 and 3 this time along with others) in the World's Top 100 Hotels/Resorts. As well they should be, they are fantastic.

That said, I just can't wrap my head around these prices. Moderator KS, please take a look at the link from your "Buy Now" auction for the Udaivilas package. The package listed at the Oberoi web site in fact says "Price for Two Persons":

Really, I'm not trying to be a pest about this, just flabbergasted and as a huge fan of Oberoi resorts I'd hate to think I could never afford another stay there again!

Well, it looks like the price for the 10 day Oberoi offer has been corrected and is now apx. $13, 600....which sounds more like it!

I wonder if anyone paid the 27,000? For $27,000, I'd expect one amazing travel experience
