Sounds like a great idea. I too would love to hear from Luxury Link on how to become an editor. Perhaps one of the LL editors or administrators could respond to this question, please.

Hi enewseven, Noticed the rating system on your post. How did you invoke the rating? Could you shed more light on this feature, or was this done by LL. Thanks for your info.

First off - thanks for the kind words.
We have some great Editors
at Luxury Link
and we will pass along this thread to them.
The short answer to this question is that in early 2007,
after we have
selected our top VIP Member contributors, we
plan to allow
some members of this select group the ability to
create and participate in blogs
in a more meaningful way.
We are very excited about the response to the
Community and are actively looking for ways to enhance the user experience.
It is suggestions and posts like these that we find very helpful in guiding us.
So, thank you for taking the time to bring up these important questions.
We take them all
very seriously and
always try to address them all - not simply with an answer - but with a solution as well.
You are all Editors of this
Community - and we hope to make that even easier for you in the future.

The rating system should be available to all.
Please let us know if it is not.

Hi LL Moderator_jh,
I can see the rating system on the bottom of your message, but I cannot find the "forum" on my LL screen - How do I get to use it? Could you please explain how to use it? and while you are on-line what is the difference between "Trusted Contributor" and "Regular Contributor"? and what do the different color designations mean that we are beginning to see in the posts?

Re: HOW DO I BECOME AN LL EDITOR-AWESOME JOB !!!
Hello Moderator,
Thank you for the quick response ! I think the site is great so far.
I would make one recommendation: Reviews of the resorts by users like ourselvesis the most valuable information for travelers. If there was a seperate section for reviews done by LL customers of places visited, with a search function to save time (i.e. resort name, location, etc) that would be great. Especially for people to share tips, ideas, and advice as we're doing in this general blog would makethe LLsite-TripAdvisor on steroids...
I left a review of Congress Hall, Cape May N.J.from this past weekend, under "beach" but I guess it could have gone under "general discussion" or elswhere if you follow what I mean.
P.S. feel free to send that to the editors for a critique on my review LOL....

Re: HOW DO I BECOME AN LL EDITOR-AWESOME JOB !!!
Hi enewseven,
I noticed your note to the Moderator. I agree that reviews of the resorts by users like ourselves is the most valuable information for prospective travelers. However LL has provisions for "Leave a Review" on each properties site. You should be able to click on it and leave a review. However, I think LL is in the process of phasing this feature out, since my review for one of the properties came back. I redirected the review to LL customer service and got a reply that they would make sure it got to the proper place. A few years back, LL would solicite reviews and if the reviews were used on the propertie's site, LL would pay the reviewer $50.00 in LL credits. Sometimes, on certain properties you actually still see some of these reviews with the reviewer's name on it.
The newer format now shows up under "Accolades" on the LL properties as "Have you visited this property?" "Share your comments here". When you click on these two lines, the blog for this property opens up and you can submit your comments/review of this property there. So when you search for a specific property and reviews or comments on a specific property you should go to the boards and check on the properties listed and read the comments or leave comments and reviews.
I don't quite understand what you are trying to say with "would make the LL site- TripAdvisor on steroids.."?????

Re: HOW DO I BECOME AN LL EDITOR-AWESOME JOB !!!
Thank you for bringing light to this particular feature. From yourexplainationthis all sounds like there is a lot of searching involved to both read a review and leave a review. Maybe in the future the process would be a little easier for the end user. I feel that most users on these types of sites would like the page layout to have a search feature on it so they can cross reference information they are reading in the blog with other pertinent information (i.e. property reviews, tips, rants and raves).
The reviews I've read under the properties were from the editors (awesome job to have) I haven't seen too many from users like you and I.
And as far as my comment for LL being TripAdvisor on steroids, unlike tripadvisor.com which is a very useful tool to read and leave reviews,LL actually has the offers for purchase through auctions and buy now features right on the site under one roof and most importantly for the top resorts and properties worldwide. You only get directed to other websites and vendors on TripAdvisors. It's fun to read and write reviews, but it's a lot easier to do this at one website when you can take action and make your purchase after reading the review !
