Inconsistency of closing times on LL auctions
Hi,
The exact closing time at LL does not seem to mean much at LL. A few weeks ago I bid on an auction that overrun by more than 11 minutes of the closing time stated by LL. Needless to say, I was outbid... This time, I placed my bid for an auctiont that was supposed to close at 10:30 PST, at 10:29:07 hrs , however, the bid came up as "auction closed" well before the 10:30 PST closing time. This is rather frustrating, as LL seems to change its closing time at will, prolonging it, or shortening it. Why? Why is the closing time not respected at LL?????

Re: Inconsistency of closing times on LL auctions
Hi Lhbrown,
Was the 10:30 time on your computer or on the LL site? If it was on the site that's not good, but if it was on your computer it may be that your clock is not synced to the LL clock. It does take about 30 seconds or so (depending on your internet connection) for a bid to go thorugh, which can sometimes be a problem in terms of it not registering (I've had simiar issues on eBay).
Cheers,
Julian

Re: Inconsistency of closing times on LL auctions
Hi Julian,
Yes, the time of 19:29 hrs was on my computer here in Paris and the current PST time that the LL bid site showed was 10:29:07. I had just refreshed the bid site to be sure I had the latest time. When I clicked for the bid, it came back within seconds to say the auction was closed. Not good....
Well, I'll try again....
