A La Carte

I just clicked on to the A la carte page but not really sure what it is all about. Can anyone tell me more? Thanks.

Hi marj-j,
The "book a la carte" options were previously know as "Custom trip builder". Now click on the "Buy Now" offers tab in the main navigator bar on LuxuryLink.com Homepage, then select the "Book a la Carte"link in the 2nd navigator link. This feature lets you select LL properties without the restrictions of an auction. It gives you the freedom to select your own dates outside the auction and you are not competing with other auction bidders. It comes at a fixed price. The prices are somewhat higher, but still better than the rack rates. These "book a la carte" offers come in handy if you want to stay at a certain property but do not have the luxury of being flexible, in other words, if you need specific dates outside the auctions. Glad you figured it out. One other thing, now that you have become a Regular Contributor, I think you should not for get to rate the posts you get from other contributors. You might want to get back over your posts, especially on the "how do I pay for an auction" threat which generated quite a few replies, and rate the replys/posts you got. As I understand it, these ratings do count or are weighted in the VIP Contributor status evaluation.

Thanks for the info on the A la carte queary.Doing that may be beneficial to me as sometimes we are restricted to when we can go. We do usually have to book our holidays well in advance as our youngest son who is ill has to go into the children's hospice to stay when we go on holiday so we usually get available dates from them and then usually work our holiday around those dates. Either that orI would need to select auctions which have datesavailable well into the year. About the rating of the posts? I asume you would get "marks"(sorry not sure how to word this?)from the rating that others give you for your post or reply, but obviously you cannot rate your own posts. Is that right?

On the rating question - yes, it is correct that the rating counts towards your VIP Contributor status. It is also correct that you cannot rate your own posts, but you can see if your own posts have been rated. Just have a look on the left side under your logo, you should see the rating your post has been given. However, you or no one else has rated my posts to you on this link. I think you should correct this. Before you reply to a members' post, you should rate the post and then after the rating appears, go on to hit the "reply" button and post your message. You might go over your posts in the various links you have posted to and should rate the messages according what you feel the value of the post represents to you or the user community. Keep up the good work.
