A La Carte Offering Suggestion?
Hi. I like to look at the A la carte offerings for a weekend trip or just to check prices. My concern is that if you put in a date, some properties listed might not show. I have found this to be the case if the property has a minimum night stay, time of the year, etc. Is there any way all properties listed could be shown in order to read the description and the requirements? (time of year, minimum nights, etc.) My example is Peter Island. When I put in two nights to check availability, I receive nothing. If I add 7 nights, I get the info AND the hotel description. I can then read in the description that there is a minimum night stay for the package. It would be helpful to know the requirements before you give up on the property. THANKS!

THANK YOU, Bonnie. I gave up on the A la Carte booking engine--it is so difficult to use.

Re: A La Carte Offering Suggestion?
Hi bonniejoy and kyshel,
I have only looked at the A La Carte Offerings twice and was not impressed by their prices. Do you really feel like you are getting way better prices on LL A La Carte offerings, then say, for example, on Venere.com or even at the hotel with a corporate rate? The LL auction prices and even the Best Buy offerings are good, especially as they include the little extras, like a free dinner or a massage, etc., but I did not feel there was a great deal of savings witht he A La Carte prices.
I would be interested in your opinion and anybody elses opinion on that question.

Re: A La Carte Offering Suggestion?
Hi Lh...still trying to figure it out. I did book a la carte for my husband's 50th in Washington DC. Seemed like a good price and the property is puppy-friendly! The price included taxes and breakfast. Will see how it works out. I really didn't show the price too much because DC is expensive in June and not too many places allow pups. Just for fun, I priced out a few other properties; Cuisinart in Anguilla and Peter Island in the BVIs. The prices seemed fair and Peter Island even had packages if you stayed 5 nights. I also tried the South Pacific. I am not an expert on their prices but the bundling of taxes/meals, etc by a la carte seemed fair. What is venere.com????

Hi bonniejoy03,
In response to "what is venere.com" it is another booking site for hotels around the world. I have actually used them before and they were perfectly acceptable... immediate responses, confirmations, etc. Check the site out - it's not bad.

Re: A La Carte Offering Suggestion?
Hi bonniejoy,
It is as CMDAVILACLI said another booking site that offers hotel rooms at a discount price, but it also lets you see photos and cutomer reviews, as well gives you a picture of the location of the hotels within a city. I have used it numerous times and I find it quite good. Just check out www.venere.com and price some of the hotels you know for a comparison. Good Luck!

Re: A La Carte Offering Suggestion?
Hi everyone. I did pop it up briefly. I didn't seem to see Central America or Caribbean? (I only looking VERY briefly.) Is the site based abroad? Does it have more European properties? Would you compare it more to hotels.com? Thanks for the tip.

Re: A La Carte Offering Suggestion?
You are correct. That is why I think there should be a note when to check the properties. For example, if you search a property for a specific date, you might not be able to gather any information. Sometimes this is because those properties only have an offering during a certain time frame. (This is what happened for Peter Island. There was a minimum day so therefore, it looked like nothing was available when I checked for 3 days vs. the required 5 days.) Now, if you do get a date and then read the a la carte description, you can see that there are minimum days or times of the year. Unfortunately you wouldn't know this unless you were lucky enough to hit the right combination. I would love to be able to read about the offerings without putting in dates.
I also had no luck with Caribbean but did find a lot for South Pacific and Caribbean besides the US.

OOPS!!!*** Just to clarify my previous post....I was speaking of LL and their a la carte offerings. Sorry if it sounded confusing with venere.com.
