i think when we went we won paid around 350 dollars for 3 nights (admittedly not in a suite though) inc all the extras

Re: Mystery Auction
I'm not sure what happened but for a flash, there was a bid in the middle at $1222 that disappeared when I refreshed the page. It was not ahs bid. it went $1220 [$1222] then $1250. Curious...
The top of the line suites sell on their website for over $1000US/night, so the value could be quite high. It only says "prestige suite" which can be several option in differing price ranges. Add $120 for restaurant and the 90 min massages are almost $300! Airport taxi is around $30US each way...
If we didn't go to Prague on the company, I'd have kept it going--pretty tasty deal when I subtract a $250 GC!!
But there are other cities to explore and money to spend someplace else...on LL, of course!!"wherever you go, there you are"

Re: Mystery Auction
We wereinterested in this auction and followed it almost to the end. Might have bid and stayed in for a few more rounds, butwe have been to Prague a couple of times (thanks to LL), and although the Alchymist Grand is a very nice hotel,we're not huge fans of the neighborhood in which it is located. For us, the location is a little distant from the areas we find appealing. Rather stay a little more central and cover the city by foot and tram.
Someone got a pretty good deal on this one, if they want a suite, plus the perksin anultra deluxe property...more or less secluded in a residential neighborhood.- Ω -

omegaet, even if the hotel isn't in your favorite Prague neighborhood, LL now has it back up for auction at a higher starting price than the Mystery Auction package sold. Guess the high bidder still go a great deal at $1,250.

Re: Mystery Auction
TS2--that same package has been available on a regular basis on LL for just under $2000, so yes, to that buyer, it was a very good price. Perhaps, the auction may have escalated to the $2K mark--"one never knows, do one?"
I also considered the location, because I have been to Prague several times and it would have been an issue for us, had we not been familiar with the local transport and our interest but acceptable within our realm. I agree with Omegaet, and I would say that it's the not the best place for first-time visitors. Still a great value and I'm certain the winner will enjoy every bit of hospitality the hotel will provide. Maybe I am just a tiny touch jealous that I allowed them to get such a bargain...?"wherever you go, there you are"

Re: Mystery Auction
j-s-2...we don't rent a car in Prague (and taxi rides start to add up quickly)....we prefer to walk or us their tram system. The reason we prefer the Hoffmeister over this propertyis because it offers an easy walk across the river to the areas of Prague we enjoy.
Alsothere is a tram stop within a block of the Hoffmeister and at least three maybe four of the tram major routes stop there.
Transportation is an important factor for us. That said, someone got a very good buy on this Mystery Auction.- Ω -
