New member and some questions around "tracking" price trends
Hello!
I am new to Luxury Link, and look forward to getting to know some of you as I work my way around the site and eventually "take the plunge"! My husband and I are in our 40's, love to travel, and hate to pay full price --well who loves to pay full price right?!
I found a resort that I'd really like to stay at, Zoetry in the Riviera Maya Mexico, but the options right now are the buy now. Would love to try my hand at an auction, as our dates are flexible. How often do new auctions come up? I added the property to be notified by email. Also, is there a way to see what historical results have been for auctions on certain properties? I know my own budget and compare to retail, etc, but it is nice to see what the results have been.
If there is such a forum topic would much appreciate to be directed to it or any other that more experienced members would feel are helpful.
Thanks so very much.

Hello casole,
Welcome to the Community. You have come to the right place. I will try to answer some of your questions and others will probably follow suit.
There is no Forum that discusses past auction results. However, you can peruse the "Past Auction Results" on your own. I have briefly scanned the "Past Auction Results" listed as last article under Auctions but have not seen it listed. You can scan that list more carefully at your leisure. The list shows you when and at what price the property was last sold. This should give you a good idea how many people were interested in purchasing it. You can also call LL Concierge services and ask if the property has ever been on Auction opposed to just Buy Now.
You are right, right now, two offers are available but only as a "Buy Now" offers. LL Concierge might be able to tell you more about it.
You have done the right thing to put the property Zoetry in the Riviera Maya Mexico, (Zoëtry Paraiso De La Bonita Riviera Maya in Puerto Morelos, Riviera Maya, Mexico - All Inclusive Travel Deals | Luxury Link) on the e-mail list to be notified.
You can also put the property in to your "Favorite Properties" List, located under "My Account" next to Log-In function, which lets you see at a glance if anything is available.
Good luck to you, and again, welcome to the Community.

Thank you LL_Travelfan, for the warm welcome.
All great information and I will definitely call the concierge. In the meantime have spent just about all day browsing all the fabulous places and deals (had the day off from work!).

Welcome, I think you'll enjoy LL! I've always said that planning is HALF the fun of traveling and this site makes the planning so much fun, but then of course I may be biased.

Thanks everyone,
My biggest obstacle right now is getting out of my frame of mind of "if I look harder I can do better". Having just discovered this site, it is new to me to pay lower for a top property, which generally equates to the top price of a step lower, and that's where I've usually spent my time looking.
Does that make any sense at all?

I think I get it, so until you get your feet wet with a purchase. I love the pkgs with perks and I have never seen them on other sites.Best of luck to you and make sure you share your experience with us, please!

01-29-2012, 05:31 AMcasole, word of advice. Don't be like me and so many others. Sometimes waiting and looking and waiting and looking and waiting and looking results in missing opportunities. Some of the best deals in the past have only been offered in limited amounts and for very short periods. I've missed a couple of wonderful packages just waiting and looking.
Some packages do come back from time to time, but their starting prices are often higher.
Welcome to our world.
