Oyster.com
Anyone else in the community use this site:

There are several properties offered on Luxury Link which are also reviewed on the Oyster. Nice to compare the representations.- Ω -

Nice.....only problem is that they only represent a few destinations. Thanks for sharing.

10-13-2010, 06:31 AMWe live in a world of enhancements and Photoshop. Luxury Link does a pretty good job, but they photos used here are the product of what is provided by the participating properties. I've never been grossly misrepresented by the photos involved in the packages I have purchased.
And, yes, the Fakeout Photos from Oyster.com are a hoot!
What is funny for me, is the fact Oyster.com more or less slams a property for misrepresentations in their photos, then turns right around and offers to sell the room to you for a deeply discounted price!
Business is business.

At least they show the correct representation of the property in question--not the same as airbrushing out an entire crane and beach renovation/hotel project next to the Marriott!

Oyster.com is interesting!
Even though we continue to stay at The Oceana in Santa Monica when we visit the LA area, we don't post any more comments, since kyshel laughed about their decor!
btw.....the pool is small, but it's really there for all of the "beautiful people" to strut their stuff [probably explains why we never use it]!- Ω -

a little chortle should never discount the value of a property's decor in terms of sharing comments, Omegaet. I've never known you to be bashful, say, like Mountie, when voicing an opinion.

So, the real question here should be have any of the members been "misrepresented" by the photographic representations of properties show here on Luxury Link?
Any thoughts come to mind?
(not implying Luxury Link made the misrepresentation, just the property, since they provide the images)t-2-f

Actually, most of the photos associated with previous purchases we have made here on Luxury Link have been accurate (OK, maybe a little "enhancement" here and there, just to highlight colors, etc., but overall, no out and out misrepresentations).
Since we live in South Florida, we expect "enhancements" almost every place we look!- Ω -

10-26-2010, 09:18 AMFirst time I have seen www.oyster.com. Seems more or less a snarky approach to driving reservations through their web site. Guess some of the compartive photos are fun.
