The Portfolio-How often does this get updated ???

I've seen many places I like in The Portfolio, but never see them offered...Does this mean they're done or will appear again in a future aution?

How often does the portfolio change?

The Luxury Link Portfolio contains a complete listing of all the exclusive hotels, resorts and specialty travel companies, as well as links to all auctions and fixed-price offers that are currently available for them. If you have a favorite hotel, you can search for it here. You can also discover hundreds of other premier properties, cruises, and tours that are sure to make the next time you travel a trip to remember. I think all of these properties have been offered on Auctions, Best Buys or Hot Deals at one point or another. They remain in the Portfolio, and when the properties encounter slow times, they may go on auctions or best buys again. I guess it is up to the individual properties to make this decision. I hope an LL Administrator, or Moderator may shed light on this for you.

enewseven, I've been watching this web site for almost a year and there are properties listed in The Portfolio that have never been placed up for auction during the time I have observed. There must be different arrangements that luxury link makes with different properties. Thank you.

I've made this same observation as well, in addition to seeing a property come up only one time and never to be offered again. I guess I'm wondering why they would still be listed if not offered in over a year ?

7....wetraded some posts and private messages on this issueseveral months ago. There have to be several different advertising arrangements LL makes properties....some involve being included in auctions, some in "Buy Nows" and some are just carried in The Portfolio



For instance, my first safari to East Africa was booked when I lived in New York with a "budget" travel organization owned by Buddy Bombard (I think it was called the Safari Club). It involved a minimal annual membership fee, which entitled the members to then purchase the low cost trips. Buddy was also operating a balloon operation over in New Jersey. and I believe he owns a minor chateau in France and nice place in Palm Beach. All of that preamble to say that I noticed Buddy has been featured in The Portfolio since I first started visiting LL.....but I've never seen one of his trips appears in an auction (my wife, who is in the non-profit world, has never been able to crack his organization for a trip donation or even a slight discount to offer something in one of her charity events). Point is, Buddy has some arrangement with LL, but it certainly doesn't include putting a trip in an auction.

I am wondering if some of the hotels/properties are on some kind of quarterly schedule. I just noticed this week that several new places were added, or places I had not seen offered in some time are now up for auction.

Well, I've been seeing several new destinations showing up in the auction recently. Anyone else noticed this?

Hi,
I have seen some new properties appearing for auctions but very few new ones in Europe. I guess Luxury Link is working hard to attract some new properties, but once the properties have had their exposure, they disappear from the auction list or go up in price considerably in future offering.To hold down prices, they often scratch the little extras like a massage or ballet tickets, etc. I have found the new properties are usually very reasonably priced at first. However, if you like what you see you better grab it because there is no guarantee that this property will be offered again the next time, or at the same price. Many properties seem to have a 6-months limit.

I second that. For example, I was watching a lovely property in Maryland (Combsberry). It is close to the Chesapeake and IT ALLOWED PUPS!!!! I was so excited but procrastinated too much! Now, theychanged the dates blocking weekend stays. We were so disappointed! We thought this would be a great weekend getaway before the holidays. My fault is waiting. I have learned my lesson.



PS-To any other people with pups, I would recommend this property. I did call the owners and they have pups themselves and welcome other pups. (even pups like ours!)

I was going to reply a while back. When the "Preview Auctions" arrived at a fast and furious pace--a few each week, it seemed like there would be lots of new destinations. The PA's have slowed to the speed of a herd of turtles but I continue to hunt through new offerings (some are previously auctioned properties, recycled/remixed to the assortment.
I believe that with pending changes in LL, we will see A LITTLE BIT more than just some new web features. Hope we're getting some gooooood stuff, y'all!
