Previously rated posts showing up as unrated

Is anyone else having this problem? I've already gone through and rated essentially every post, which is helpful for a frequent visitor like me because then I can easily view the new posts (they are highlighted in bold while the previously rated posts are in standard font.) When I returned to LL today a huge number of my previously rated posts now have a place for me to rate then again - what's going on?

Hello Claas,

I've been having the same problem as well -- I visited some threads where I knew I'd rated all the old posts but I was asked to rate them again. It looks like there may be a bug in the system -- or maybe it's a hint to reconsider our ratings ?

I saw your question about this in another thread but didn't jump in because, honestly, I have no idea what it is all about. I'm not even sure I agree that it is a good idea and I think it kind of detracts from the nice conversational tone this board has taken. I tend to rate the more in depth posts with a lot of good travel information a bit higher, also if there is an idea or point of view given I really agree with I give it a higher rating. I generally give most other posts a neutral 3, even if it's just a quick line saying thank you since I think these types of posts are important. Who knows, though, this is just how I rate and everyone probably has a different system or avoids rating altogether.

Now that all of my ratings seem to have disappeared (which is really annoying b/c it did take quite a while to go through the whole board and rate everything!) I may just give up on the whole rating thing for a while. I'm not sure how much the ratings count toward our overall status, but I vote for getting rid of it. I think we can tell who is and who isn't giving valuable information on the board, we don't need a rated post to tell us that.

Hi everyone,

It is the most annoying thing to read and rate the postings, and then see that they are not rated. This has happened to me twice and I did feel a little frustrated. I didn't say anything because I have been having problems with the blogs too, and I thought it was the computor.Hopefully,LL will figure out the problem soon so that it will not happen too often.I also hope that this rating process has a purpose.I think that LL has this rating system in place so that they know who has shown the interest of knowing everything that is going on in the LL Community.

I have just taken time to go over the question section, and have noticed that I am being asked once again to rate allthe posts. Can an LL Moderator please let us know if it is necessary to re-rate the posts we are sure we rated. It would be great to have a column to show the posts that remain to be posted next to the new post column.

Interestingly, the 'greatest manmade / natural spectacle' poll is back as well...it sounds like there is definitely some sort of bug in the system. Unless someone at LL decided that the Great Wall wasn't so great after all?

I called into LLfor a problem with the VIP Blog, during that telephone conversation I brought up the rating problem.LL Moderator e-mailed the solution for theblog, but still nothing about the rating. I find it frustrating to rate posts, then to be asked to rate again. When you open a thread, and you see that you have rated a post, you can also see were you have left off. So the rating system can be good for both LL for their internal use+ for contributors to see which post they have read & rated already, so we are not reading the same thing over & over again.

I am still having problems with the rating system. The posts are still coming up as not rated. Can the LL moderators please give us some feedback to our questions for this rating problem. Is there really a problem or am I doing something wrong?
