Reserving a lower priced Availability Period after buying a higher priced timeframe

I want to buy a LL package and it's one of those packages that is now separated into 5 Availability Timeframes with different prices, likely based on the property's high or low season times. If I buy the highest priced timeframe but am unable to use it then, do you think there would be a problem using it during one of the lower priced availability timeframes?

Of course no reimbursement would apply for using it during a lower cost timeframe, but just logically I'm thinking it would not be a problem as long as there are available dates within the lower cost time period.

It used to be that properties would have one (or maybe two) large timeframes but it seems that there are now more and more properties with 3, 4, or 5 separate and smaller timeframes that one must select before bidding or buying.

As a general rule of thumb, if you purchase your Luxury Link package during the highest-priced validity period, the property will also honor it during any of the other timeframes listed on our site.

Of course, make sure that the two package purchase options are exactly the same in terms of room nights, inclusions, etc...

What happens if you purchase a property in the lower price range, but want to use it later in the higher time frame. Can you pay the difference directly to the hotel? We have a situation where the LL offer ends in Sept. but we want to use the package in Oct./Nov. I wrote to the hotel in Cape Town and they assured me that they will have packages later on for Oct/Nov/Dec. However, I can't wait that long since I need to secure my air fare/air line reservation now.

First, I would ask the hotel what the price was in high season last year to gauge costs. If they are willing, what's the difference.
There are certainly plenty of fine, reasonable hotels in the area to choose without being on pins and needles with just one. I would continue your plans and list several properties that would suit your party.
You will be very surprised how small Cape Town is. You can do a full day RT to Cape Point and still enjoy dinner before retiring for the night near the city. I'd just set aside those dates and see what develops with LL offers. You can go to Hermanus in just a few hours if you don't find what you want in CPT. I hope that helps!

Thank you. We actually did just that. We found a lovely small hotel (Cape Town Hollow Boutique Hotel) for less money than the Steenberg. The added plus there is that the small hotel offers also Airport transfers and pick-ups and a variety of sightseeing tours that they will organize from 1 to 7 participants.
