Not to quibble with you, but I believe that LL purchasers should beware..............but not for the reson you state. If I understand your posting, you bid on an auction, THEN called the hotel to see if your dates were available. I would refer you to the directions and information on every LL auction:
Above the location to enter your bid amount it states -
AUCTIONFlexible with Your Travel Dates?
Get Our Best Value
STEP 1: If you have specific dates in mind, consider contacting the hotel (and LL provides the phone number to call) to confirm they have availability for this special package.
Under the package listed dates, it states -
Reservations are subject to availability at time of booking. May not be valid during holidays and special event periods.
In the auction rules, it states -
Date Availability
All Luxury Link packages are subject to availability. Valid travel dates do not necessarily indicate availability.
For all Luxury Link Auction packages, you aren't confirming your dates prior purchasing the package, so it's best to be flexible. Although there is no guarantee that your primary choice for travel dates will be available, calling the hotel before bidding to estimate the availability during your preferred period can give you a good idea of what to expect. We will do our best to help you confirm the dates you want when we help you with your reservation.
For all Luxury Link Buy Now packages, your requested travel dates are confirmed and guaranteed before you are charged.
I do wish you well with your upcoming wedding and honeymoon. I am sure it will be beautiful. It probably would have been best for you to use their "Buy Now" offer instead, especially with specific dates being so critical to your trip. The flexibility is what allows for the cheaper auction offers.

You misread my posting entirely. The problem is not that the resort did not have the dates I requested. I would have been happy with ANY 4 nights during the package's travel period. You see, the package was ONLY available for travel from June 1 - 30, 2011. And when I contacted the resort, they were booked solid for the entire travel period. It was wholly false advertising, as the package I won did not exist. Period. Thanks for your concern and comments, though!

There was no "Buy Now" option for this resort, unfortunalely. Otherwise, I totally agree - I would have gone that route. Thanks again and best wishes to you, as well.

03-07-2011, 11:06 AMBradio,
Thank you for your comments and support. I have a difficult time believing that well-known publications have given LL the accolades claimed on LL's homepage. I have friends who work for those publishing companies, and I am working to find out what the truth is. I also wonder whether the positive commentaries offered on this website are written by employees of LL. I know that some hotels and resorts will write their own reviews on sites such as tripadvisor, making their property appear better than it is in reality. LL seems better than it is in reality, as well. I emailed customer service the day of my original post and never received a response to my concerns of false advertising, automated or otherwise. Interesting. I also wonder if "Sonya" is the only "concierge." I called numerous times to straighten matters out and she was the only person I ever spoke to. All in all, I have serious doubts that this websites, and the auctions, are legitimate.

Just for the record, I have no affiliation with LL other than a being a very happy, satisfied customer. I resent the implication that those of us posting positive comments here are anything other than that. I am sorry that you 2 are having issues, but I hsve only had great experiences with this company.

I will reply to both melissa and bradio with this:
I have had very good service most of the time with LL. I have never hesitated to mention the few times I had some minor difficulties, not to dis LL, but to let them know and allow them to improve. I have my favorite concierge; I can guess I'm not the only community member with a personal preference.
I hope LL has been able to get to the bottom of your complaints and solve them satisfactorily. I agree that bradios has been dragging on a long time. MK1, I think your accusations about this community are unfounded."wherever you go, there you are"

bradio, a thought!
In many relationships, both personal and in business, there comes a time when it is best to move on.
It would appear this time has arrived in your relationship with Luxury Link.
We really get your point, you're not satisfied and you seem to want to continue to labor the point.
Why invest any more of your time in your ponderous prose. You have made your point - we understand!
Just move on and focus on the remainder of your life.t-2-f

Not such a good deal
JUST SPENT OVER $1100 FOR A 3 DAY STAY IN SAN DIEGO. EXPECTING TO HAVE ALL INCLUSIVE AS ADVERTISED. FIRST THERE WAS A CHARGE OF $15 A DAY FOR INTERNET, WHICH WAS MANDATORY. THIS WAS NOT A BIG PROBLEM, BUT WHEN CHECKING OUT THEY TRIED TO STICK US WITH AN ADDITIONAL $350. AFTER FIGHTING WITH THEM OVER ERRONEOUS CHARGES, WE FOUND OUT THAT THE GOING RATE FOR THE ROOM WE PURCHASED WAS $190 A NIGHT. WHAT A DEAL!! WE SPENT DOUBLE WHAT IT WOULD HAVE COSTED BY BOOKING WITH LUXURY LINK.

Sounds like you didn't do your homework. I don't believe there have ever been any all-inclusive packages in San Diego offered on LL.
