Specific Health Advice - Swine Flu Precautions

i was just in paris, and no one was wearing face masks. like some of the other posters, i like hand sanitizers too. i use one made w/thyme & rosemary essential oil that i found at whole foods. i doesn't leave a sticky residue like the alcohol-based ones.

I've been searching around for a place to give me a hit of the nasal spray. That nasal application just holds a great deal of intrigue to me.

I think the sprays are just going to the 4 to 6 year olds........they shots are going to us "big kids". Shy ~

Nope. It's a Nose Shot or No Shot for me for me. Anyway, I was 4 to 6 years at one point in my life, so I qualify in that catagory.

My husband and I traveled to Mexico in May at the height of the swine flu panic and had no problems - we washed our hands frequently and used hand sanitizers. When we landed in Mexico (Merida) and when we returned to the states, the airports had medical personnel using those hand held temperature scanners to check people for fevers - was actually kind of interesting. When we traveled from Yucatan state to Campeche state there was a state border check point - again the guards had hand held temp scanners - they were pretty much just checking the locals and were letting the tourists (what few of us there were) just pass on by. We did not encounter any closings or sickness, howeve, we were in Merida and the western side of the Yucatan penninsula and did hear that over in Cancun there were quite a few hotels closed due to all the tourists that cancelled their trips. We actually thought this ended up being a great time to go and it was - very few tourists, everyone was happy to see us and we were treated wonderfully - got lots of upgrades!

A recent travel show dida report on staying healthy while traveling. They recommended an additional precaution in motel rooms that I had not thought of.When checking in to your room,one of the first things to do is to use disinfectant wipes on surfaces in the room touched frequently, but not often cleaned by the maids. Such surfaces are lamp and light switches, toilet and drawer handles, TV remotecontrol, door handles and locks.

Anyone take the H1N1 shot yet? Anyone planning not to take the shot?

I got the standard flu shot about 2 mos ago; got an old flu (mild, low temp/aches/tired) a few weeks later--lasted 3-4 days

H1N1? Listen I just finished worming all of my dogs (in my space time I rescue a bunch here and there, until I can find a good home for them). I think I'll just take a dose or two of their left over worm medicine and that should hold me through the flu season.

Hi M....YUCKO! Let the worm medicine to the pups! We don't want a run on deworm medicine for pups now!
