Style Boards
I'd like to ask about community use of "style" category threads.
Other than the specific cruise option (perhaps golf and skiing are specific enough to warrant separation??) do country, city, beach, and/or adventure really need to be split from destinations?
I find that I ignore those areas--then I realize I might actually miss some valuable information that could be listed in a specific location--such as country could encompass golf, adventure includes skiing. Over-organization can have a very confusing end result.
I think LL has an excellent website, with a few shortcomings. This is one area that new users might find tedious and repetitive. Eliminating some duplicated sections could make it more efficient to navigate the site. Anyone else have an opinion?"wherever you go, there you are"

Re: Style Boards
Hi Kyshel. I definitely agree with you. I believe that when these boards started to "develop," it was thought best to start to divide out some issues. Now, those boards rarely get any use. I do check them a few times a week but there isn't much action. I think that if someone wanted to know about, for example, golf, they could head their topic with the word golf and start a thread in then general questions. There are too many breakouts in my opinion. Also, look at the destination section. Its a lot of detail. Anyone else?

Re: Style Boards
Dear kyshel and bonniejoy03,
I think you're opinions on the Style Boards in the Community are absolutelyright. This area has not been getting as much action as we would like to see. Ihave in the past gone through and moved some messages to places where theinformation would gain more attention. Your posts are very valuable to us andwe want to make sure they are being showcased in places of the Community withhigher traffic. This is likely to be one of the areas in the Community we willbe making changes to in the New Year.
Thank you for your feedback on this. As always it's greatly appreciated!
Best,
Katie

Re: Style Boards
Hello,
I agree -- the only one of the style boards I check regularly is cruising. The others don't really enter into my use of the site, and I think that the content there would be better switched to a destination-specific area.
Cheers,
Julian

Re: Style Boards
LL_Moderator_ks....for whatever the reasons, the Style Boards just haven't captured the interest of most visitors and contributors. We check now and then to see if there is anything new......no luck! Might as well eliminate!

Re: Style Boards
kyshel -- congratulations. your insightful recommendation was taken to its logical conclusion. style boards closed... now, if only a 'cruise' board could appear, as that makes sense, somehow, under destinations, jashermd would have the same success... maybe a destination like 'somewhere on the seven seas' would fit as a title. anyone else have a suggestion for a destination title for cruise info?
kind regards

Re: Style Boards
I guess "ship of fools" would be inappropriate?
"Out of Port"?
hahaha
Maybe "Luxury Cruises" or "Sea to See" (sorry--that started as a typo, but I'll keep it!)"wherever you go, there you are"

Re: Style Boards
Kyshel, I like "Sea to See".... (Out of Port .... no, very bad bad choice ... there would be entries on where to get higher quality fortified wine... and that would result in more confusion....)....
kind regards
