WOW, is this part of the Filadelfia Coffee Resort Package in Guatemala?
This looks like some wild ride!
I would need to strap on an Adult Depends Undergarment before I hooked up to that line and stepped off the edge!
I don't mind scuba diving into deep dark waters, but jumping over the side of great heights scare me!

Look these canopy tours however, once is enough! It just as scary to do this zip line as it is to get down from these heights! Have a great time in Guatemala and Filadelfia! I'll be thinking of you! (ps-check out the tennis courts for us. We hope that the packages continue to be offered for the beginning of 2010. Would love to go then!)
PSS-Are you going to do the Pacaya volcano hike?

Re: Training for Guatemala
bonniejoy03 & mountie...you can do "zips" and repelling at The Filadelfia Coffee Resort. No need for waterproof undergarments....only the best equipment is used and the zip cables are actually hand checked every morning before being opened to the public for use.
Will get the info on tennis courts.- Ω -

Hey, -O-, did you see that news article about the lawyer who just got bumped off (am I'm not talking about losing his seat on a flight) right there in Guatemala City? Maybe you should be training with an AK-47 instead of zip lines. Are you still going to make the trip?

Re: Training for Guatemala
bonniejoy03....we did speak with Elizabeth Bell and will likely take the (morning) hike up Pacaya. The temps are still quite nice and the late afternoon showers are starting to occur. Gabby at the front desk of The Filadelfia suggests you arrange your schedule to visit them....she will personally see to it that you get in plenty of tennis court time (it not included in your package, courts run about $15 an hour - they don't watch the clock too closely)

mountie....I'm not an attorney...just a low profile traveler. I feel very safe being out and about in Antigua, Guatemala. You take care of youself while scuba diving.

Re: Training for Guatemala
O...You are wonderful! Thanks for the info on the tennis and connecting us with Gabby! Now, if the package dates just went to the beginning of 2010! I have heard great things about the Pacaya hike. Can't wait to hear back about it. I do hear that you should wear good sturdy shoes and gloves. A walking stick is also beneficial. I guess you actually walk on the steaming hot lava! Sounds amazing. Have fun. PS- At Filadelfia, do they have a scheduled transfer into Antigua (main area).
Thanks and safe journey! We head out next week also!

Hey, -O-, did you survive your adventure in Guatemala? If not, then there is no need to reply. I'm still thinking about bidding on a Guatemala auction.
