trip reports
After reading a post about Disneygal returning from Royal Hideaway, a property which I would be interested in hearing more about, it made me realise that there is no-where on this site to actually write a trip-report. Surely this would be very beneficial to everyone. Are Luxury link going to have this option in the future? I know I personally would love to get first hand info from those who have recently been to the hotels and resorts featured. Or is theresomewhere on here already where you can write a report and I have just not come across it?

Re: trip reports
Hi Mary-j,
I think you can find your answer to your question in the LL Moderator-jh post. I will past the post in for you.
"First off - thanks for the kind words. We have some great Editors at Luxury Link and we will pass along this thread to them.
The short answer to this question is that in early 2007, after we have selected our top VIP Member contributors, we plan to allow some members of this select group the ability to create and participate in blogs in a more meaningful way. We are very excited about the response to the Community and are actively looking for ways to enhance the user experience. It is suggestions and posts like these that we find very helpful in guiding us.
So, thank you for taking the time to bring up these important questions. We take them all very seriously and always try to address them all - not simply with an answer - but with a solution as well.
You are all Editors of this Community - and we hope to make that even easier for you in the future.
Regards,
Luxury Link"
You can see from this reply that changes will be made in early 2007 and a select group of the VIP contributors will be given the ability to create and participate in blogs. I guess we will have to figure out "how to blog", but with a little bit of luck there will be some instructions on how to create a blog. There are already some blogs on Sightseeing and Properties descriptions in existence. So have a look at the format they are in. These blogs are property specific and country/sightseeing specific and have a lot more substance. By the way, you can also rate these blogs and contribute your own comments and experiences.

Re: trip reports
Thanks Lhbrown for taking the time to send me the info. I know what they are saying but does that not mean that those chosen as VIP contributors will be the only ones able to write a trip report(or blog) as they call it!. It was something along the same lines as "trip advisor") that I was meaning where anyone can write in their report or views on the hotel.

Re: trip reports
Hi mary-j,
I don't quite know what you mean by "trip advisor". As it stands now, you can always comment and give your review on properties where already a blog for it exists. If no blog exists yet, you can chose the category, Caribbean, Europe, Worldwide, City, Beaches, etc. put your review on a new threat by listing the property in the pertinent category. We don't know yet what the new format will look like after the first of the year after LL will reveal the new changes. We are all hoping it would be something like the TripAdviser.com website uses as format. For now it is wait and see...

Re: trip reports
Lhbrown, I was meaning the same "trip adviser" that you talk about. I really think they way they have people writing trip reports works really well. It is a forum I go on to regularly as you can go on to discussion forums for the country you are interested in and then you can choose a state/county so it means you get advice or info about the specific area you are interested in. Hopefully when L.L. has been running for a bit longer then it will include more specific areas rather than the country etc. and be able just to click on to the area you want from the drop-down menu. Thanks to all thoseinvolved in setting up and running this site for all their hard work. I am enjoying it very much.

Re: trip reports
I just noticed a feature called "Submit a Review". Maybe it's been there all along and I just didn't see it. When looking at a property, you have a few options indicated by links towards the top right of the screen. I was trying the "favorites" feature and noticed that you can send your review to LL in the form of an email with the "Submit a Review" link. I think it would be a small jump for to them to take any worthy reviews and start a blog for that property - at least until we have the ability to do this ourselves. Anyway, I thought I would share this feature for providing feedback in case you missed it (as I did).

Re: trip reports
disneygal....I believe the "Submit a Review" information ends up being reviewed by one or more members of the LL staff and some of the "edits" are posted. I would like to be able to see an area of the site that allows those of us who have visited a property to post our opinions and views....open to the public for all of us to read!disneygal wrote:

Re: trip reports
Hello,
On some other forums people just start a thread and label it as a trip report. This would obviously work better if the boards were more specific, but it's an idea...
Cheers,
Julian
