Re: TRUSTED CONTRIBUTOR STATUS
OK Gang...my error. I should be looking at the dates to the posts! Guess this was all old information. I still think its time for a vacation!

Re: TRUSTED CONTRIBUTOR STATUS
Hi bonniejoy,
You are forgiven! I too find it hard to keep on top of all the posts and sorting out what is new and what is old. It is getting more and more difficult as the Community grows and going on vacation will make it even more difficult.... Where are you going? In any case, have a nice trip and report back to us. I too am looking at a LL ski trip in Val Thorens, France next week, so I will be out too for a while....

Re: TRUSTED CONTRIBUTOR STATUS
Yes. It is hard keeping up. We just returned from Nicaragua and Costa Rica on the 16th. Heading to Phoenix in March. Hope we can expect better weather there than the East Coast but I am not holding my breath. I heard there was alittle snow out there last week. Oh well, vacation is vacation no matter what the weather.
Have a great ski trip to France. How long are you going? How are the snow conditions over there? Please share your experiences with us. Have a great time!

Re: TRUSTED CONTRIBUTOR STATUS
Is status granted automatically after reaching a certain # of posts....or do the moderators/editors actually evaluate various criteria before awarding certain status levels?

Re: TRUSTED CONTRIBUTOR STATUS
Good question, Crusinred -- I hope that quality counts as much as quantity does. People who take the time to write a detailed response should get some credit for the effort they put in to add to the board.
I do think there's something more to it than the number of posts, otherwise I would be a VIP by now as I have more posts than at least one of the VIPs. Maybe it also has to do with the number of log-ins and how many minutes you spend on the board.
Cheers,
Julian

Re: TRUSTED CONTRIBUTOR STATUS
Jasher, I think they only assign VIP Contributor status once a quarter, and that was just awarded at the end of '06. A question, do you rate other peoples' posts? I think that counts towards status, and I noticed in a couple places you had responded to my posts but they remained unrated. Don't forget to rate as some of the "VIPers" seemed to indicate that is important.

Re: TRUSTED CONTRIBUTOR STATUS
Hi,
Generally I don't rate other people's posts -- I'm not sure what criteria to use for them, and some aren't really rate-able like the ones where a new person posts and asks a question. I noticed that not all of my posts get rated either, but wasn't sure what this meant.
Cheers,
Julian

Re: TRUSTED CONTRIBUTOR STATUS
I agree, it is difficult to determine how best to rate, but I kind of just rate as I go. Maybe LL should post some sort of criteria as to what the ratings mean.

Re: TRUSTED CONTRIBUTOR STATUS
Hi J & C,
I too find it very difficult to rate comments, we do need a criteria. A VIP has mentioned that we should not be using the posts for thank-you, or a personal messagewe should be sending e-mails directly to the person concerned. Sometimes we see a one rating for that. I don't like putting my ratings on those because maybe that person does not know, and my rating might hurt them. We certainly need more guidance.

Re: TRUSTED CONTRIBUTOR STATUS
Hi,
Personally I like to see a thank-you every now and then, but using PM would be fine for that. I think this is just one of those growing pains phases that the board is going through.
Cheers,
Julian
