Twitter is working
I am so pleased several of the hotels you are featuring have Twitter accounts. I have been able to get immediate answers regarding specific questions and have had these hotel forward additional information by email. What a great feature for properties located outside the US, enabling them zero in on prospective clients.
Hope to see more LL properties using Twitter.
For me, Twitter is more practical than Facebook.

Re: Twitter is working
None of that social media BS for me! I'm just too old school and I don't really get it at all.

Re: Twitter is working
mounte, I don't know which individual(s) at LL is responsible for keeping the LL Twitter active, but they do a wonderful job. I see their informative and responsible updates appearing on my account frequently.
I don't use a Facebook account myself, but I do find Twitter useful.

Re: Twitter is working
Hey, Twitter may not be for everyone, but it's definitely generated a TON of attention over the last year, and it doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon.
If you'd like to check out LL's Twitter page, here it is!

j-s-2 & katie....let me share the following link with both of you:
http://traveler.nationalgeographic.c...e/miami-text/1
...we used Twitter for similar information in developing "tips" and "suggestions" for most recent trip to Chile...between our broken Spanish and the willingness of locals to return private tweets back in English, we discovered a couple of places we wanted to eat in Santiago and several wines (not exported to the US) we wanted to taste.
We have an upcoming domestic "bleisure" trip and have already received a couple of interest tips http://twitter.com/dimsumtruck
OK, maybe you don't have an interest in eating Chinese Lotus Wrapped Sticky Rice from a truck roaming the streets of LA....you could do worse.
For us, Twitter has become another tool to use in making our travels more interesting.
btw....several of the restaurants mentioned in the article are among our favorites - Michael's Genuine is tough to get into, but worth the effort http://www.michaelsgenuine.com/

Re: Twitter is working
I don't have a Twitter account and likely never will. On the other hand, I will admit I mentioned certain items of personal interest and ask my children to serach Twitter tips for me. Amazing the information they come up with and quickly.

Re: Twitter is working
katie, I swear this is true. I was watching three people text and Twitter one another last week and they were sitting in the same lounge, maybe 15 or 20 feet from each other. What's up with that?

Re: Twitter is working
Yes, katie, and they were taking pictures on their phone cameras of each other and then sending them to one another! I finally had to finish my drink and leave the place.

Re: Twitter is working
I mentioned the food trucks in LA to my daughter last night during dinner. Within a half hour, she reported back that Zagat actually has a Twitter site just for food trucks http://twitter.com/ZagatBuzz/los-angeles-food-trucks

Re: Twitter is working
OK, I'm giving in and signing up for a Twitter account. Then I will find the LL link or whatever you call it and give it a test. Look at me changing with the times. Horrible.
