Re: Twitter is working
Hi everyone,
I have signed on for twitter, but it all sounds a bit too complicated to me. Is it realy worth the trouble? All I saw was short blibs, no really detailed contributions. I think you can find good information, more detailed, elsewhere.... I am not sure I want to be followed and then having to block whomever is following me... I cherrish my privacy to the extent there is any left.... I guess I am in the "technically challenged" or oldfashioned group... Mountie, bonnyjoy, did you get anything useful out of it that you couldn't find otherways on the net?

LL_Travelfan and bonniejoy03, the Twitter thing is obvioulsy not for everyone. I'm glad I signed up and seems like I learn a little more each time I sign into my account and search around for people with similar interests. I like the fact Tweets are limited to 140 characters, which means I don't get involved in long messages. I really haven't developed a lot of followers nor am I following a lot of others. I am selective and it seems to be working for me.
Like most everything else on the internet, Twitter probably isn't for everyone. I do like the Tweet alerts that LL posts.

Thanks for the tips. Sounds like I just need to sign on and then follow companies that I want to follow. Will try it this week...

bonniejoy03....as an example, sign in, using your name and password...then click on the Find People tab in the upper right hand corner...then fill in a term in the Who Are You Looking For box (example -Tennis or Cheap Travel or South America Travel or Costa Rica or Lake Atitlan)...you will have choices appear in the form of icons and a brief explanation.
See something of interest? Follow it...if you like the information, keep it, if not "unfollow" it. You will also find links to web sites once you click on some of the icons, which can assist you to develop additional information....try this approach with Lake Atitlan and you will find an icon which will take you to a web site showing a variety of hotels in the region.- Ω -

I added TripAdvisor and wendyperrin from Conde Nast Traveler to my Twitter list. Some interesting tips from both.

I have been watching the LL Twitter tweets and it doesn't seem like there are any specials being offered. Any of you followes noticed anything special?

Re: Twitter is working
mountie...I see several Tweets a day from LL on Twitter. I don't think LL sends out any Twitter special offers, that is to say, any offers thatare just for their Twitter or FaceBook members.
I think Twitter and probably FaceBook (don't have a FaceBook page) are just additional conduits for marketing and communicating and simply direct followers back to the main LL web site.- Ω -
