VIP Contributor Status Rules to be Revisited by LL

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your detailed response. I was looking over my last posts, curious if anyone had replied, and was pleasantly surprised by your response. Wonderful, you have done a great job at answering so many questions all at once. Another question that came up which you have not addressed is: If we should not attain VIP status for the period chosen for the VIP Event, will we still be invited to the event? Would not want to miss the occasion to meet all the VIP Contributors, Moderators & Staff ( especially Nancy Taylor).

I can assure you that all of our current VIP Contributors are at the top of the
invitation list
based on their dedication to Luxury Link.
I do not like the idea of anyone losing the VIP status as it means that the
Community contribution is
down, and I see this as our most valuable Community content - but that will not preclude you from

being invited to the event.




I promise to let you know more about this event as soon as I do.

Thank you for clarifying the question I put out for LL_Moderators concerning VIP Contributor Status Rules. I appreciate you going more into details of the various aspects of VIP Contributor Status. I agree with you that you want to leave some aspects of the VIP Contributor status open, as you said the community is just 10 months old and you want to give yourselve some leeway, but it was also important to the VIP Contributor comunity to know where we stand in regard to $1500 prize drawing, VIP blog activity and invitation to VIP Events. Thank you for your time to clarify these questions.

Thanks for answering so many questions in such a succinct post Jono! Since I've been an LL visitor/browser for many years, I keep forgetting how young this community actually is. So much has happened in only 10 months. I do feel that the board has slowed down over the past couple month sor so; that's likely an indication of what happens in general in late summer: vacations, regrouping, back-to-school, back-to-work mentally. I'm as much to blame as anybody; I certainly haven't been contributing as often as before for all of those reasons. Hopefully we can pick back up again soon! And, I'd really like to attend whatever VIP event happens in the future: please do keep us posted!

Hi. I'm new here and want to confirm something. I "contribute" by posting a blog, right? If I want to comment on a place I recently stayed at that I got in an auction here, is that also done by blog? Should I be asking these questions by starting a separate thread, or replying to oneas I am now doing? Can you get VIP status by just asking questions? Thanks for your input.

ereisner...glad you have chosen to join and contribute to the community, especially any comments or observations you have regarding LL trips you have made. This is one of the major reasons this community exists..sharing of travel information, especially regarding LL destinations and experiences.



Probably the best way to handle your posting is to go to Destinations (which is a drop down selection from COMMUNITY on the opening task bar), you will find an alphabetic list of countries, select the country you want (maybe be Spain in your case), that will take you to the Board for Spain and Portugal, select Talk About Spain & Portugal.if you see a thread on the place you have visited, then you can post your comments.if not, look at the task bar at the top entitled Post Message and you can start your own thread.


Currently, Blogs are available for use by designated VIPs. As for exactly how LL designates VIPs, that topic is not fully defined..it is based on a quarterly review by staff members of LL and is judged on the participation and contributions of community members.

Hi. Thanks for the feedback. I actually did post a review of where we stayed, which was a glowing endorsement of the Auberge Ostape, an DuCasse affiliated spa which, at the price I paid in the auction, was actually the cheapest place we stayed in the entire two weeks as well as the best.

I really appreciate the time you've taken to clarify several of the concerns and issues voiced over the past while by a number of LL Community contributors including myself. It is good to have an explanation directly from the Managing Editor at LL. Thanx. I'm excited by the prospect of being able to use your new initiatives, such as photo and video up-loading to create a slideshow of travel experiences, and a new forum for communicating directly with LL Administration staff. These are sure to enhance everyone's experience on the LL Community.
