07-15-2010, 09:06 AMRe: VIP Contributor Status
I just opened my email from katie.
I would have opened it sooner, but I knew I was in no condition to read and understand it. The tequila god whipped me into submission again and I found myself trying to revive with alternating cold showers and strong coffee.
At first I was drinking the cold showers and pouring the strong coffee over my head!
Well, thanks for including me and I'll get busy shopping for some travel auctions as soon as I think it safe to leave the house again.

Re: VIP Contributor Status
Is there some explanation somewhere on the website of the VIP program? Or is it a secret? Thanks!

When I was a VIP contributor for 3 quarters, I never got an invite to a LL sponsored VIP event - do they actually have any?

I've never gotten one either. I think it may be something from the past.

There actually were VIP Events, just about the time I joined the community. I don't think any of the active community members have ever attended one.

Hi,
I was one of the first group of Contributors to get a $500 VIP Gift Certificate back in 2006/2007. The stipulation was that there was going to be a VIP Event for the VIP Contributors to be held at the Pierre Hotel in NYC. This VIP Event never got off the ground, and as far as I know there have been no VIP Events to this date. Also, the initial $500 VIP Gift Certificate was lowered to $250 a few years back.

What
LL_Travelfan, maybe one of the LL Staff will chime in on this subject. I am 110% certain there were photos of the First VIP Event displayed on this web site several years ago. The event took place in Los Angeles and involved some travel trade people, various other media representatives, key management personnel from Luxury Link and some customers who had purchased and made trips.
No such event has taken place since. I am comfortable in making this statement.
Also, I still have one of the original $500 VIP Certificates, which has almost doubled in value - something I cannot say about my stock portfolio or real estate holdings.
Come on katie or michael - jump in here and back me up on this one! If I could find jono or nancy, I know they would back me up....

I joined in 06, rec'd my first $500 in 2007. I have all the GC's saved. There was one LL VIP event I could not attend. Mountie--I also saw those photos from it. I believe there was one more after that.
Maybe O can weigh in, if, indeed, he was in attendance!"wherever you go, there you are"
