Why not more auctions for France?

Hi everyone,



Lately I've noticed that there are tons of auction offers for Italy (I think 117 as of today), but only a few for France (20 today...). We're are planning our honeymoon for France in May and I was hoping to see at least a few more packages go up, especially for chateaus in wine country as we have our Paris location nailed down. Out of curiosity is there any particular reason why France isn't getting the love of other European countries right now on LL?

Hi Samanth55,
I agree with you that there are few castle hotels on LL at the moment. Many of the French luxury hotels in the less traveled regions close down for 2 to three months in the winter to move their staff to ski regions or the Cote d'Azur. However, there is an excellent chain of luxury hotels, all summarized under http://www.relaischateaux.com. We have stayed in many of these hotels and have never been disappointed. You might check out the LL France thread where you will find many discussions on Paris and other French properties. We live part time in France. I give the Relais and Chateaux hotels my vote. Wish there were more of them on Luxury Link.
