Does anyone have a suggestion for a great Luxury Link winter getaway? Winter is just starting and I am already sick of it!

Hi. I would suggest Punta Islita in Costa Rica. It is a great location and a different type of get away.

Hi: I'm trying out Italy, there are several specials including Venice and the Alps. Good luck, P.S. I have some booked and I'm a single the trips are for two if you are interested. I'm a good travler, non-smoker and not looking for anything but seeing the country and the people.

Hi, I too have been looking at Costa Rica for my holiday next winter too, but not sure about the weather. i was thinking about November/December. The placeI really like the look of is La Mansion Inn. Has anyone stayed here? It just looks so intimate and the perfect place to chill out. Cheers,

Try Biras Creek Resort on Virgin Gorda. Beautiful location, good food and fantastic activities program. Also, the Bitter End Yacht Club and Resort is right around the corner which runs sailing schools and scuba expeditions, great activities for singles. You could also try Peter Island which has nice activities. Good luck.

Hi! I would suggest Mexico. LL has some attractive packages on both the Caribbean and Pacific coasts. Depending on your location, one of these locations can be easy to get to, and prices are usually lower than resorts on the Caribbean islands. Great for some winter sunshine!

On the subject of mexico, i have ben on the verge of booking to go to Mexico many times but have changed my mind at the last minute as one of the placesI would like to go to is los Cabos but it is difficult to get to from the UK. Has anyone from the UK flown to there,if so, how long did it take you? The resorts which really appeal to me in Mexico are Marquis los Cabos, Ikal Del Mar, Maroma Resort and Spa, Las Ventanas, le Casa Le Qanta and Excellence Riviera Cancun. Out of these resorts, which would you recommend? Thanks.

I agree, its a total hassle to fly from the UK to Mexico. I would recommend flying with the British Airways / American Airlines partnership (One World Alliance), and BA has a good selection of flights (timetable-wise) into the US, and AA can get you into Mexico pretty frequently. However, if cost is an issue, I say use a major carrier to get to the US, then try the American low-cost carriers Southwest Airlines or ATA to get to Mexico.
Have fun.

Re: Winter getaways
Hi mary-j! Some of the resorts you mention are in the Mayan Riviera, rather than Los Cabos. Maybe it would be easier for you to get to the Mayan Rivera from the UK. Another consideration, while very scenic, many of the resorts in Los Cabos appear to be on beaches where swimming is dangerous due to the tides. If you're OK with swimming the pool, maybe it doesn't matter. I've haven't been to any of the resorts you mention, so I can't weigh in on that. Heading out on Saturday for the Royal Hideaway, so if anyone is interested, I'd be happy to report back and answer any questions when we return.

Re: Winter getaways
Hi Disneygal,I would love to hear all about your holiday at Royal Hideaway when you return. R.H was also one of the restorts in Mexico I have been interested in too so it would be good to get a report on the resort from someone who has just been. Which room/suite category are you staying in? Mexico has so many hotels/resorts which appeal to me. We had actually booked last year to go to Secrets Excellence Riviera Cancun, but we had to cancel as it had been destroyed by the hurricane. It looked so beautiful and when we saw all the damage that was done to it from the hurricane, it was really sad. But, I have saw recent photo's and the place is looking like it was,if not better, than it was pre-hurricane. One day we will definately go to Mexico. AllI need is to make a decision on which resort/hotel to choose. Have a wonderful holiday and look forward to hearing all about it. thanks.
