Anguilla is a Caribbean paradise with some of the best beaches in the world. Cuisanart

is a lovely place to stay with rooms that overlook their beach and beautiful gardens to stroll in.

I wonder (just curious) why you have selected Anguilla as your honeymoon destination. I'm not disputing, just interested . In any case, Cap J is a fine and luxurious place for a honeymoon. (And mighty pricey.) You should be aware of a couple of characteristics of the island. It is absolutely flat, relatively arid, and nothing like a tropical island of the Nevis or St. Vincent's kind. It does have beautiful beaches. It also has some the best food --and most expensive food--outside of St. Bart's. CoveCastles is a place you might also consider, mainly because it is a bit more isolated than Cap J--well, smaller, and therefore more intimate. Has a great beach for walkinhg hand-in-hand without the sense of 100 pairs of eyes watching you. Avoid the CuisinArt resort and spa; several friends have stayed there and found it wanting in construction integrity, food andf service. (Which doesn't leave many areas of possible excellence.) Do rent a car and explore on your own. Be sure to go to Johnno's, a local joint on the beach (need I say very informal?) that sometimes has live music. Attracts the occasional minor celeb, if you're into that. And from the beach where Johnno's is you can catch a boat to a tiny islet just off the coast --can't remember the name-- that boasts couple of palm trees, a grill and bar, and a long reef for snorkeling. Really neat. But be prepared for very high prices in the restaurants that people talk about--Blanchard's. Mangos and others. Dinner and drinks can easily run 250 dollars a couple.

Hunter1. Thanks for the update on Anguilla. I did post a blog to assist anyone with some Anguilla ideas. You don't have to spend alot of money in Anguilla (we are living proof of that!). Johnnos is great and so is Smokeys, Picante, Pump House, and of course any of the barbecues. You can find many secluded beaches and snorkel right off the beach. Most vacation destinations don't always have to be expensive. You need to ask around and find what suits your budget concerning food and accommodations.

Hi Sherivaaxa. Thanks for the update. There are so many new boutique properties opening especially on the West End. Viceroy at Barnes Bay is really moving along. Some of the rentals should be ready next year. Tenemos at the golf course has units for rent. Turtles Nest at the West End is due to have their second "tower" finished in a few months. (they currently have one but will have a 2nd finished soon.) The area is growing quicker than a lot of people want.



I didn't realize you were connected with the property. We are down there a lot. Where exactly is your property located on the West End? (we stay on Meads Bay.) Have you thought about offering one of the units for auction?

Hi Sheriva. I know where you are. We stay on Meads Bay so you are very close to us. So, you are those beautiful villas we see before you cross the water to Cap Juluca???? I thought that was part of Cap? Are you affiliated with them?



We will be in Anguilla in two weeks. We would love to stop by to say hello. Thank you for the invitation! Does your property have any tennis courts or do you have a relationship with Cap to use their courts? Are your units rented or owned or a combination? Thank you for the info!

My wife and I stayed at Sheriva for the first time in December and found it to be superb in every way.



We've been on Anguilla 23 times, staying at Malliouhana, Cap Juluca, Covecastles and Frangipani.



This is a marvelous island to visit, particularly if you like fine accomodations, lovely beaches, excellent

places to dine and the nicestlocals anywhere in the Caribbean.

It is, however, very laid back and is not for anyone who is seeking entertainment, nightlife and casinos.



Can't wait to return in December to our newly found very special place to stay, Sheriva!

Hi cliftwood. I also visit Anguilla twice a year;. I Love it!!! I toured Sheriva on my last visit in May. I found the property quite lovely! Our host was also so kind. Did you find the property through Luxury Link? Did you bid on the auction? I did do a post on the property.

We discovered Sheriva on the Anguilla Forum trip advisor, originally. We watched it being built and knew it was going to be special, but assumed it was going to be a real estate deal and not what it turned out to be.



Needless to say, it is very special and we loved the facility, the staff and the delicious seclusion. Going back in early December for our next visit.



You can't go wrong staying there.
