Hi bonniejoy03,
We just returned from Virgin Gorda, but used AA frequent flier miles and went through beef island and then got picked up by the Little Dix boat. Worked out great for us. We stayed at the Rosewood Little Dix Bay for the week.
Little Dix was created by Laurance Rockefeller in 1964, this 500-acre garden paradise is situated along the crystal clear waters of the British Virgin Islands on lush Virgin Gorda. Set around a crescent-shaped bay and protected by a coral reef, the exclusive boutique resort of Rosewood Little Dix Bay is an idyllic setting of refined, natural elegance. The resort features extensive water sports (diving, sailing, deep-sea fishing, snorkeling), a 47-foot luxury catamaran, nature trails, proximity to the infamous “Baths”, fitness center, seven tennis courts, pool table, croquet, ping pong, children’s program (Children’s Grove), gift shop, activities center, three restaurants (The Pavilion, The Sugar Mill, The Beach House Grill), two bars and our beachfront swimming pool overlooking the ocean. We particularly enjoyed their water sports program with the little sail fish boats available whenever we wanted it. Also their evening cruise was nice.
Rosewood Little Dix Bay is comprised of 100 spacious and beautifully appointed guest rooms, including 16 Rosewood Jr. Suites, 4 one-bedroom suites, 1 two-bedroom villa, and 1 three-bedroom villa. All rooms feature handcrafted teak furnishings and casually elegant interiors. Designed to blend in with the landscape, the rooms are nestled among sea grape trees and bougainvillea and not visible from the water, ensuring ultimate privacy. All rooms and suites are equipped with patios and porches to take advantage of soothing breezes from Virgin Gorda’s trade winds.
This would be a good addition to the Luxury Link properties. We loved the place. We were surprised how much Virgin Gorda has grown since we started first going there.
wow...ll...Wish I would have known you were going! We would have passed on some "hellos." Great management team running the place! What did you do? Did you go the Bath and Turtle (or Rendevous?) Mad Dog? We just love VG. We head there in August. Did you see the new Oil Nut Development going in on the North Sound???? It is Mad!
bonniejoy,
Just noticed your post now or would have replied earlier.Of course we went to the Bath and Turtle, and the Mad Dog, and of course, to our old haunts of Mahoe Bay and Paradise Beach Resort. We were distressed to the Virgin Gorda so built up. No, we did not see the Oil Nut Development. We heard about it, but were told you can only reach it by helicopter or by boat. Sounds pretty exclusive. I understand the same developer also did Biras Creek.
Oil Nut is HUGE! It is being positioned for large (HUGE) yachts. We went by it on our way to the Fat Virgin. Have you tried the new place, Hog Heaven? It is so cute. It is on the way from Mahoe to Leverick on the new paved road. We are heading back in August.....for now, getting ready for Greece!!! Cheers!
Oil Nut Bay - I had a look at their website and you are right, it is HUGE. Looks very nice. We did stop by and had Lunch at Hog Heaven.Great place. Good food. Very reasonable prices for this island, and a view of the islands and ocean that is unbeatable.
Hi L...it is funny that at Hog Heaven, it is FREEZING!!! That location is so perfect! We can't wait to go back in August. Maybe some time you and I will meet on island!! Do you go annually?
