Hi...Any feedback on Nevis? Any visitors to Montpelier (the property on LL.) Thanks for any feedback!
We just got back from Nevis, traveling from Dec 3-10 and loved it. We stayed at the Montpelier and it was just lovely. Nevis is definitely more rustic than we expected, meaning there is only one paved road on the island, although that road does go all the way around the island. You definitely have to be a little brave to drive a car- they drive on the left side and many of the smaller roads are one-lane. We chose to use taxis during our stay, which were easily arranged by the hotel and charged directly to the room. The Montpelier could not have been better. The staff were all so nice and the owner lives with his family on the property and they were a fixture during the evenings. The food was good and the beach was very nice- totally private with a beach bar and little bungalows if you need shade. Many of the guests were repeat visitors and come every year during the same week. It gave an intimate and friendly feel to the inn. We will most definitely return.
Thanks J. Did you use the LL package? We have always wanted to visit. Do they have transfers to the beach frequently? Did you see many tourists on the island at that time? We will be in Anguilla at that time next year and thought about adding on Nevis. Also, how did you fly in? Via St. Kitts??? Thanks so much!
Hi bonniejoy,
Have not been to Nevis, but have you seen the LL package The Hermitage in Nevis, Saint Kitts And Nevis - Hotel Travel Deals | Luxury Link
Yes...I do like this package and Montpelier package. We go to Anguilla each year and have always thought about tagging on a trip to Nevis. Now, Cape Air, flies daily from San Juan to Nevis. Great option to get to Nevis. (Cape Air also flies to Anguilla now.)
Thanks for the info on air transportation on Cape Air.
Unfortunately, I noticed Cape Air has increased their prices for 2012! ( I was looking at Tortola/VG and Anguilla.) Maybe it is too early in the season to price these trips. I was so discouraged. Not sure how Nevis is priced. It still is a great way to get to Nevis though and avoid going through St. Kitts.
