Beef Island/Trellis Bay experts?
Anyone familiar with Trellis Bay area around Beef Island in Tortola? I am trying to find out about restaurants and little grocery stores? I think there is a restaurant but haven't been here. I might have a few hour layover before heading to Virgin Gorda so wanted to check my options!! (Virgin Gorda airport remains closed!)

Hi bonniejoy03,
Have look at this link. There is a small provisioning market there, but it has been a while since we have been to Beef Island. We used to take the ferry from Beef Island to Virgin Gorga.

Thanks T...I had seen the restaurant there. Going to be an interesting trip to VG this year with the airport closed! Might be sleeping in front of this market the first night!!

Hi bonniejoy03,
Just in case, here is the Beef Island Ferry Schedule. Maybe this will be of help. We often used the Beef Island Ferry.

Re: Beef Island/Trellis Bay experts?
Thanks L....Have the ferry schedules. Would probably try to take the North Sound Express. It is going to be quite tricky. If USAir arrives on time. the trip should go smoothly. If not, we might have to overnight in San Juan or Tortola. Just to get to VG this year, we will need three flights and a ferry! CRAZY! Right now, I am planning on taking Cape Air one one and Air Sunshine the other. North Sound Express said to call back at the end of July when they would have their updated schedules. Not much travel in September and October in the region so many schedules change.
Thanks again....any plans for you to go back to the BVIs?
Re: Beef Island/Trellis Bay experts?
Hi bonniejoy03,
That's always been the big question, will AA get there on time... and will they hold the ferry for the flight if it is late. Hope you'll make it ok. The big problem for us was always what to do with the food boxes if we get hung up in Puorto Rico or Beef Island. One time we did get hung up in Puorto Rico, but the hotel was nice and put our food box into their walk in cooler, so we did not lose our food.
We are toying with the idea of going back to VG, especially to Paradise Beach Club, in early Dec. ,but haven't organized anything concrete yet. Right now, we are concentrating of going back to Germany in early August, after the month of July in the US at Lake George. I did book 2 nights with LL package in Washington DC and 2 nights with LL package in Charleston. The DC package was a steal, and the Charleston Place was almost $100 cheaper than in the past. Both packages are very good values, especially with our $250 VIP Certificates.
Kind Regards,

Hi L. Where is the Paradise Beach Club? I don't think it is there anymore? There are only a few places to stay. Where are you staying in DC? Normandy? We are goiing to Baltimore and staying at Pier 5. Can't wait. Got the auction through Family Getaways. I see they just added Fells Point Property. Will check it out when we go down in August and then hopefully bid on that one also. So glad we will have some more properties in our area so we can do weekend trips!
Re: Beef Island/Trellis Bay experts?
Hi Bonniejoy03,
I guess the Paradise Beach Resort has been absorbed, or been renamed into Mango Bay Resort. We haven't made a decision yet to go down there in December. At Washington, DC we are staying at the Normandy in November on our way down to Florida. We look forward to it. We also made reservatiolace again, which is a wonderful place to stay and break up our trip down South. Charleston is lovely and what better place to stay than the Charleston Place. This time the price at auction was almost $100 less than in the past. Great buy!
Re: Beef Island/Trellis Bay experts?
Hi L. Mango Bay is quite lovely. It is right next to where we stay at Mahoe Bay (really same beach.) Tell me what you think of the Normandy. We are staying in Baltimore in August. Have you considered Baltimore on the way to FLorida? Check out family getaways. They just added three properties at Inner Harbour. We are staying at the Pier 5. They just added their sister property at Fells point. Will probably bid on this if Pier Five works out with the pup!!!
Re: Beef Island/Trellis Bay experts?
Hi bonniejoy03,
Haven't really considered Baltimore as a stopping place, but will check into it for one of our trips going south or maybe coming up north again. My husband has family in Fredricksburg, VA, so we often spend a night or two there. Looking forward to staying at the Normandy in DC. Want to see the DC museums again. I'll let you know how the Normandy works out for us in November.
