hi two2go
I hate to say this but of all the places we've stayed at in Cuba not one had consistently excellent food. All of them featured wonderfully fresh and tasty fruits, good vegetables, savory fish dishes, delicious desserts (especially ice creams and pastries), and aromatic coffee. When it came to meat dishes though, the Cuban resorts have a way to go compared to most other Caribbean resorts we;ve been to. Whether it's the livestock that the meat comes from or the way in which the meats are prepared, it just seems that they somehow 'miss the mark'.
As far as beaches are concerned, our favorites are found in the Jardin De La Reina, a long string of islands off the north-central coast of Cuba. Cayo Coco and its neighbour Cayo Guillermo have by far the most amazing stretches of white sandy beaches with crystal clear waters that feature a string of off-shore coral reefs for snorkeling and diving.
The Cuban people are genuinly friendly and generous wherever you go.
