This will be the first multiple-of-5 year anniversary that my husband andI don't leave the country...becauseI forgot to renew my passport! Our anniversary is in February, so it is a little late to try to expedite one (but if anyone knows how to get one superquick, that info would be great, too.)
So, here is the challenge: the anniversary is in early February. i am looking to find a location that is warm and tropical, preferably east coast, with a hotel or resort that goes above the pale, or provides an excellent all-inclusive. I am tempted by the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, but if there is a place in Florida where the weather is typically in the 80s in early, Feb., that would be more than acceptable. Is there any great recommendations out there?
Thanks for any info you would be willing to share!

Sorry about your passports. I still would call the passport office to see what they are expecting for time frame (especially with the holidays.) With that said, in the US, you could look at Little Palm Island in Florida. Very exclusive and very lovely. I think the weather will be warm but not stinking hot. A lot of people recommend Caneel Bay in the US Virgin Islands. That would be more "tropical" for you. Plus, they have meal plans available if you like. That's a start.

Hi p2mflashpm, If you're still looking at options, you may want to consider the Ritz Carlton St. Thomas. On a trip last month we stayed at this property for the 3rd time, and had a very nice dinner at their Bleuwater seafood restaurant. I think it was worthy of a special occasion - food was excellent and the setting was lovely. The weather was nice, so we were able to sit outdoors on a patio area. Just about perfect! The breakfast was excellent also. I think without question it's the best choice on St. Thomas.
It would be easy to combine St. Thomas with St. John. From the Ritz, it's a short ride to the Red Hook ferry. The ferry itself is less than half an hour to St. John.
