Interested in obtaining feedback about Jumby Bay. Planning to visit during the summer months and I heard the resort was recently renovated. Just wondering if anyone has stayed there recently. Any room preference or rooms to avoid, overall service and tips for sites to visit. Thanks!

Hi Jimenia1:
One of our distinguished LL Community VIP's actually suggested this as a honeymoon destination a few weeks back, I will attempt to give you the link to that thread.

The author is Omegaet and you can search for this thread by going to the LL Community page to the keyword search and type Jumby Bay. It should come up that way as well. Hope this helps!

We were there a year ago as guests at someone's house, and two years ago as hotel guests.A vast difference between the two experiences. Aas a guest in someone's house--a multi-million dollar hideaway with private chef, infinity pool and great views, we were completely isolated from the rest of the goings on. That is, the experience was intensely private. (Though of course, if you wanted to go nto the hotel bar for a drink you could always climb in your golf cart and run over.) Also, the pprivate residences do not face the airport; they're on the other side of the island. As a hotel guest, the experience is quite different. Not bad, but not umpteen star, either. The main beach for hotel guests does face the end of the airport runway, and while it isn't ugly it hardsly fits the fantasy of island idyll. Food was okay. Breakfast, fine, ditto lunch. Dinner--well, the menu strives for a level of accomplishment the kitchen can't meet.Drainage can be a problem on the island. Heavy reains can flood some (hotel) guest villas.
In sum, at half the cost Jumby Bay would be a bargain. At current price levels it is far from completely satisfying. You might want to consider Carlisle Bay if you're intent on Antigua. But they have some (minor) issues, too.
I hope this helps.

Thank you so much, it helps quite a bit. I will look into Carlisle Bay as well. I was told of another place in Antigua called Hermitage Bay, that we are looking as well. Thanks again!
