Jumby Bay Resort

I have been reading the different threads and have gotten some great tips! I am planning for my combo 10th wedding anniversary and 40th birthday, so I want something truly special and relaxing. My wife has been looking at Jumby Bay as a possibility. While it is not a LL property, I am wondering if anyone may have been there recently or has heard anything about it from others. I looked at hermitage beach and it looks incredible. So, I am now debating. Thanks for you help!!

Unfortunately Jumby Bay will be closed for renovations beginning June 1, 2008. We were there in 2004 and loved it. We were going to plan a return trip when I heard the news about its temporary closing. Sounds like it may not re-open until October 2009.

It's great to hear of a company that is taking care of its employees during this type of transition. But I do hope they don't change the unique feel of the resort too much. The addition of WIFI and flat-screens will be nice for some, but one of the things we liked about Jumby was that we were able to "unplug" from our daily lives without televisions in the rooms or Internet access outside of the small computer room.



Good luck with your travel plans, hopefully you will find a great place to celebrate instead of Jumby.
