Provo, Turks & Caicos
One of the most fabulous beaches I've ever come across in my many years of travel is the one along the south shore of Providenciales (aka Provo) Island in Turks & Caicos. The waters of the Caribbean at this location are stunningly beautiful, crystal clear for a long stretch out from land (no seaweed, driftwoodor grungy sediment to be seen anywhere), and the most amazing blue-green color imaginable. The beach itself is virtually pure white sand and stretches as far as the eye can see (always kept meticulously clean). There are relatively few palm trees along its length compared to beaches in places like the Dominican Republic. Neither is the vast expanse of pristine beach spoiled by a throng of tall condominiums or crowded clusters of tacky resorts. Because T & C is a British Protectorate, rules and regulations governing development adjacent to their beaches are strict and keep the number and height of buildings quite low. These standards add to the unspoilt allure of some of the best beaches in the world.

Re: Provo, Turks & Caicos
We have been to many of the Sandals Resorts over the years and think all their beaches at their resorts are beautiful, but apparently, their Sandals/Beaches resort in Turks and Caicos is the most beautiful of them all. Everyone who visits there cannot rate it highly enough.

Re: Provo, Turks & Caicos
Hi Mary-j
We've not stayed at the Sandals/Beaches in T & C, as yet. If it's located along the south shore of Provo, then I can fully understand why people who've enjoyed a stay there consider the beach the best.

Re: Provo, Turks & Caicos
I agree - Provo has just about the perfect beach. I mentioned that to my husband last week when we were in Mexico that I liked Provo better.

Re: Provo, Turks & Caicos
hi dg
Glad to hear of another Provo convert!
My wife and I just drool when we look at our photos of the beach there or reminisce about our wonderful week walking the white sands along the gentle surf or swimming in the perfectly clear water. Fantastic!

Hi Curt! Do you have a recommendation fora place to stay? I had been to Club Med in my single days. Beaches is nice, but I think that's more family-oriented and we like the more quiet places. Thanks!

Hey CurtieJoe,
I remember you recommended Provo to me in another post, my fiancee and I are really considering Turks and Caicos for our honeymoon and stumbled upon this place Amanyara. I noticed it's part of the LL Portfolio and was wondering if you know anything about it, is it worth the $$$$ etc... ?
By the way great use of the
features

Re: Provo, Turks & Caicos
Enewseven,I had been very interested in booking one of the Aman Resorts(Amanpuri) and had sent an e-mail to them to ask them about that particular resort and they actually sent me a whole collection of brochures from all their resorts. They were actually small booklets filled with all you will need to know about their resorts and were jampacked with info and pictures of the resorts. They are all very beautiful resorts, very classy and just ooze luxury. I take it you've still not decided on your location for your honeymoon? When do you get married? Let us all know where you finally decide on.

Re: Provo, Turks & Caicos
enewseven, have you checked out "trip advisor"? There are excellent reviews about Amanyara on there, except one but I would just ignore that one. It does sound as though it is an exceptional place. I know it is probably expensive, but hey, it's your honeymoon!

Re: Provo, Turks & Caicos
Hi MaryJ,
I just read through the reviews on Tripadvisor and yes, all very positive except for one, as well as one that mentioned a lot of mosquitoes ( which is not good). But I am getting married in May so hopefully the bugs won't be there then. This place does look awesome and it is in our top 3 choices right now. We will probably book in early January so I'll keep you all posted and thank you for asking. This has been the most research I've ever done for a vacation LOL
