Punta Cana Hotel and Resort the worst Caribbean experience ever

I'm surprised that Luxury Link would continue to offer vacations to the Punta Cana Hotel and Resort. This was the most disappointing experience I have ever had in the Caribbean - or any where, for that matter. While the beach and area are stunningly beautiful, the hotel is well past it's prime, the service is abominable, and the prices are ridiculous for such appalling food. It's a travesty that this resort continues to stay in business. I hope others don't have the misfortune of experiencing this hotel.

Thank you for following up. Yes this was our first Luxury Link experience and a very disappointing one. The hotel itself seems to be relatively well maintained, but it is getting old and certainly needs updating. However, in such beautiful surroundings this was not our prime concern. The service and food are truly appalling. The staff, right up to the manager whom we spoke to, have no sense of customer service. We encountered only a few situations in which the service was appropriate, which seemed to depend very much on the individual. In general, staff were indifferent and sometimes rude. We did come to understand that some staff do not speak English, but this did not account for the poor service. The staff who cleaned the rooms had no English language ability and they were the best in terms of service. While the hotel boasts 9 restaurants, they are all poor quality and quite expensive. The only decent meal we had was when we went to the next-door Tortuga Bay hotel.

I hope this information is helpful to you. When I booked the Punta Cana Hotel, I had booked 2 other trips on Luxury Link for later this year, and I am hoping these will prove to be a better experience.

We have booked the Hotel Raphael in Paris and researched this location much more thoroughly so we are expecting it to be a great experience. We also have a booking for Cotton House on Mustique.

We are also going to Cotton House! I am working on dates now. The correspondence with the property so far has been wonderful and quite efficient. I have visited the property in the past and it is lovely. Hopefully we all have a great experience!
