Raffles Canouan- Heaven on Earth!

For those who are looking for a fabulous getaway this summer, I highly recommend Raffles Resort on Canouan Island in St. Vincent and The Grenadines. Although an avid traveler, particularly to the Caribbean, I had never been to a Raffles Resort before. I purchased a 5 night Romance Package at auction 04/27/09 and my husband and I traveled to Canouan at the end of May to celebrate my 50th birthday.



Every detail of our holiday was 6 star from the moment we got off the plane. The resort is breathtaking, the villas are divine and the service is exquisite. My husband is a golfer and I do the spa thing. Every day he headed to the golf course for 18 holes and I headed to the beach/pool and then the spa for some much needed pampering. It was relaxing, refreshing and restorative. And fabulous food on top of it all.



In the end though, the best thing about Raffles is the staff that work there. They are so welcoming, friendly and attentive, you feel like you've arrived home. That's the Raffles way. It's a challenge to get to Canouan due to multiple connections (hopefully American Airlines will resume non-stop service from San Juan or even Miami soon) but it's worth it.

Hi Lauren. Great post! We flew in the area in November. We went to Cotton House on Mustique (LL package!) and flew Air Mustique but stopped at a few of the islands along the way. Lucky you and a wonderful birthday celebration!


Was there a lot of guests visiting? How many guests can the resort hold? Isn't there a casino on the island? Thanks for any other info!

I agree with everything Lauren said and more but she forgot a few things........the beach is gorgeous and the food is quite good. You are quite isolated there so it's not as if you'll go out elsewhere to dine. We are big travelers and total food snobs, and we really liked it! I spa & golf - the course is very nice. Went with our 9 year old twin girls - they are dying to go back. It was worth the trip from Los Angeles.
