Re: St Lucia - Getting there ?
Enewseven, if you do decide on St.Lucia for your honeymoon, are you going to stick with your choice of Jade Mountain? If you do, you will need to tell us all about it.(your stay!) I think it is definately going to be somewhere we will goin 2008. What really appeals to me is the magnificent views and having your own private plunge pool and having so much outdoor space around your suite. It looks amazing.

Hi Mary J,
After many months of research Jade Mountain is definitely at the top of the list, although very expensive it looks worth it, also we like Discovery at Marigot Bay. This is also a new one in St. Lucia. But at any event I will absolutely return a full review wherever I go, especially for these new places !

Just to let you know my daughters and I met there last winter. We flew out of different U.S. airports. 2 of us met and transferred in Miami. We were all on full-sized planes into St. Lucia.

Hi Susaneve,
Thank you for the info, that is what we plan on doing. We will take a flight from NY to Miami and board a smaller jet to St. Lucia. How did you like it there, and would you reccomend it as a honeymoon destination ?

Re: St Lucia - Getting there ?
Enewseven, Have you decided yet? Is Jade mountain still one of your favourites? I actually received a lot of brochures/info sheets from Jade Mountain today by post. It just looks absolutely amazing!! I would definately go for the "sun" infinity pool suite which has the most demanding 270 degree panoramic views, with over 2000sq.ft. sitting in an elevated position. The private individual infinity pools are even 900sq.ft. in size in these suites! They also feature shallow-water lounging areas an addition to a large swimming area. They are illuminated at night with fibre optic lights, the colour of which guests can can change with their personal control.I must say that I am very tempted to book here although having been to St. Lucia twice before,I was intending on choosing a different destination in the Caribbean, but Jade Mountain looks like a place I would be very happy in.

Hi Mary J,
Still have not booked anything and we are still very interested in The Jade Mountain Spa. That place looks amazing, the only thing I'm worried about is the poor reviews I read of the food, as well as bugs flying around in the room. If the auction does come up I will definitely consider it, but I'm also now leaning toward Anguilla too. It just sound like a great island !

I'd be careful about Anse Chastenet. We visited there in 2005 and weren't all that impressed with it. We were staying at the Jalousie plantation at the time although I hear it has really gone down hill also. At the time though we were really pleased with our choice of Jalousie over chastenet. Jalousie was a Hilton Hotel back then.

What in particular didn't you like about that area? I'm very close in booking The Jade Mountain Spa which is the newest resort in Anse Chastenet. It's gotten very positive reviews etc. But your post has me concerned. If you'd like, feel free to email me privately with some more information. Thank you.

Remember we were there in 2005 so it may be different now. However, we didn't like the size, very small. The rooms didn't have air conditioning and were very open. Room views not all that great for most rooms.Beach is very small and tough on the feet, volcanic I think. Only one restaurant. I don't think they have any TV. Road out to the resort is a mess, very bumpy, etc. I think you can find a lot better. Also travel by car in St. Lucia is also a nightmare. We much prefer Jamaica or Anguilla.
Of course, if you are honey mooning it may not make a difference.
