Re: st thomas hotels
Hi doramaya,
I have a similar question, looking for one night in St. Thomas after a few days in the BVIs. I think that most of the small B&B and boutique-type places are around Charlotte Amalie. That's a good location for shopping, but those smaller properties are not on the beach. So, it depends what you'd like to do for those few days. A few years ago we stayed at the Ritz Carlton before a cruise. It's a nice hotel but, in my opinion, not worth the prices they're charging. Since you have 3 days, you could spend a night or 2 on St. John - it's a quick ferry ride. For me, the beach is most important, so I'm still investigating. Any other ideas from the community?

Dora,
It's been about 4 years ago that my husband and I went but I would highly recommend Secret Harbour on St. Thomas. The snorkeling right there on their 'very private' beach is excellent and food at the Blue Moon is second to none as far as I am concerned. The hotel guide is Stanley (I hopehe is still there) and he will take you into Charlotte Amalie when you need a ride foryour trip. I believe you can make arrangements for just a few days' stay as well. Go to www.secretharbourvi.com for more info. P.S. Request a room right on the beach or you might be hiking up the steep hill to your room! Nice large pool, the house iguana named Ladue and thewonderful 'bushwacker'concoction at the bar will make some nice memories for you.

Hi Barb,
Thanks for this suggestion. I had already booked a night at the Secret Harbour after reading many positive reviews. So, this helps me feel a little better about that choice. In another discussion a LL community member talks about being terribly bitten by insects recently at this same resort, so I hope that is not the norm! In any case, I'll have to bring plenty of repellant!
