Hi Funtimes! Hopefully I responded in the other section about Tortola. Are you just sailing or will you be staying in Tortola? It is very busy when the cruise ships arrive. Stay away then! Tortola is lovely and hilly. If you aren't sailing, I recommend a day sail on Patouche. Great couple that run the charters. Check out their web site. Definitely do a day trip to Virgin Gorda. Visit the Baths, Savannah Bay, and Spring Bay. You can rent a jeep on the island. (Mahogany Car Rentals-Verilyn or Clennel). It is much more quiet on VG. Eat at the Flying Iguana right at the airport. (hi to Puck, Lenny, and Andy.) On VG, you can even take a ferry to Biras Creek or Bitter End. Hope this helps. Where are you staying on Tortola?

Thanks Bonniejoy03 We will not be sailing so thanks for the charter information. We will be staying at LL package Long Bay Resort - then Icis Villas. I've read iffy reviews on travel advisor - but thought we would give it a try LL price was Great! We may have to bring our own towels as several reviews mentioned problems with lack of towels. Has anyone ever been to Long Bay Resort? - a hillside resort by Elite Resort Properties ...Funtimes

Been to Long Bay twice, once 20 years ago and most recently 11, but we went by recently on a day trip to Tortola (we were staying at Guana), and the new villas look a lot nicer. When I stayed there it wasn't the best but certainlynot bad - meals were only ok. But walk overto Smuggler's Beach for snorkeling, body surfer and beach bar. Day trip it to Virgina Gorda (non cruise ship day) and see the Baths. Be sure to rent a car for a couple of days and visitCane Garden Bay, it's lots of fun. Tortola is one of those islands which is almost better for the lack of the super fancy hot spots.

Haven't stayed at Long Bay but have seen it. The LL auction price seems really fair. We were looking at combining it with Virgin Gorda. Good location, tennis courts, beach, etc. I really sometimes think it is what you make of a property. Sometimes people can be too critical and expect way too much. With that said, I think you have made a nice choice. (PS-What month are you going?) We will be in the area in September.

Hi funtimes. Sorry we will miss you also. We will be in Anguilla in May so......if you are in the neighborhood, come visit! I have heard of Icis Villas but have no experience with them. I am sorry, I have no experience with them. Have you thought about spreading your time out and staying on another island other than Tortola the whole time? Look at Virgin Gorda, Anegada, Jost Van Dyke, or Cooper Island. Transfers between Tortola and those places is not difficult. If you want any suggestions on those places, I can offer ideas.
PS- Where is the Tamarind Club. I have never heard of it?

Looking for seclusion, Biras Creek is a short 30 minute ferry ride from Trellis Bay near Beef Island Airport on Tortola.
Peter Island is 15 minutes from Road Town on Tortola.
Both are excellent properties.
