Afer Constantiople fell to Mehmed The Conqueror in 1453 and became Istambul, the Ottoman dynasty built numerous palaces, mosques and collections. Had a look at the weblink you provided as part of your post on the current exhibit at De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam. The Istambul exhibit looks very interesting and would be one I'd very much like to see. Too bad our travel plans for visiting Amsterdam this spring got changed. Hopefully, when we do get there late this year or in the spring of 2008, the New Church will have another amazing exhibit on display. Thanx.
