Any good sugestions for flying into Lyon France ?
I am looking for airfare into Lyon so I can then head on to Courchevel Ski area. Since there are no airports right there Lyon is the best option but the flights seem to be high that are flying in there. I am wondering if I should fly to Paris and then take a train the rest of the way or if there is an airline I may not have checked out that has good deals to Lyon. Thanks for any suggestions.

What is your departure airport? Are you willing to fly a low cost airline as well? I would be happy to help if you respond with some additional information.

We went through Geneva and took the train to Lyon. Stayed at an LL property in Geneva ( D'Angleterre ),

Other options for Courchevel
Grenoble (2 hours from Courchevel - low cost airlines only) and Chambery (1hr15min from C. low cost airlines & BA) are good options. Buses to Courchevel run regularly from both airports.
This website also offers some good info: Travelling to Courchevel: How to Get Here... | Courchnet.com

Very helpful info
very helpful that you suggest these airports. I was looking after I made this post and was thinking I should check them out so now I know I will for sure! I will try out the web site you mention as well, I am sure I will find some good pointers there. Thanks for all of the suggestions.

Going through Geneva is a great idea too! It seems that it would probably be your only chance at getting to the area with only one stop. (United through Washington D.C.) I have found a few rates this winter in the low $900's.
There is also bus service to Courchevel directly from the Geneva airport:

You have several options here. You can take an inexpensive flight to Paris and then transfer to the Gare de Lyon and get on the train to Moutier. Check out SNCF schedule at: Gare SNCF : 08 92 35 35 35 / Voyages-sncf.com : Voyage en train, en avion, réservation d'hôtels et séjours
At Moûtiers: The connection time from Moûtiers to Courchevel is approximately 1 hour. To obtain further information on coach transfers from Moûtiers, please contact Altibus on +33 4 79 68 32 96. or navettes autocars : www.altibus.com
Here is a good site to get more information. 3 valleys ski resort : Best ski resort europe for french alps holiday, best cross country skiing
If you fly into Paris you could connect to Lyon by plane and from Lyon there are a number of ski buses that take you to the 3 Vallees. The same is true if you fly into Geneva. Here us a private Transfer operator: Theskibug airport transfer service to the three valleys ski area from Geneva, Chambery, Lyon and Grenoble.
Here is another link. Courchevel Airport Transfers - Ski-Lifts
We skied in Val Thorens for many years, and we have taken the train from Paris and found it quite comfortable. The train left around 8 am (there are later departures as well) and we got to Moutier around 1 pm the transfer by altibus took about 1 hour and we got to Val Thorense around 2 or 3 depending when the bus left from Moutiers.
We have also flown into Paris, connected to Lyon and then took the bus from there. A friend flew into Geneva and took the bus from Geneva. All three options work well.

nicnanc--check prices from CVG/CDG nonstop on DL
It's a 767W--flight 0044
Some days it's really packed, others can be lighter--usually Tuesday/Wed
Then you could do the train as LLTF said, or fly as DBoldea--maybe a code share on AF on same ticket. Check both DL and AF sites and plug in CVG (since AF does not operate the CVG flight, you might find a better deal)"wherever you go, there you are"
