Anyone familiar with the holiday around June 2nd in Scandanavia?
I seem to find a holiday in the Denmark/Sweden area around June 1-6. Anyone familiar with it? I did a little research but it is more general info. Wondering what is closed, what activities happen during that time, and how active the cities will be during that time frame.

I could not find anything specifically for June 2nd in Scandinavia. However, since 1983, Sweden has celebrated its National Day on June 6th.
Every year, the King and Queen take part in a ceremony at Skansen, Stockhom’s open-air museum, where the yellow and blue Swedish flag is run up the mast, and children in traditional peasant costume present the royal couple with bouquets of summer flowers.
Special ceremonies welcoming new Swedish citizens are held around the country on National Day.
Previously, 6 June was not a public holiday, however, in 2004, the Swedish Riksdag voted to make it a public holiday, which for the first time was celebrated as such in 2005.
Denmark celebrates its Constitution Day on June 5th and is a public holiday.l
Here are some listings for Scandinavian June Activities & Events:
* Early June: Sweden Rock Festival, Sölvesborg
* Early June: Stockholm Marathon, Sweden
* Early June: Taste of Stockholm Food Festival, Sweden
* June 5: Independence Day (Constitution Day) Denmark
* June 6: Independence Day (National Flag Day) Sweden
* June 20-23: Midsummer's Eve (Solstice)
* Late June: Stockholm Summer Games
* Late June: Days of Tordenskjold in Frederikshavn, Denmark
* Late June/Early July: Viking Plays in Frederikssund, Denmark
Here are some Packing Tips For June Trips:
Light coats are great for travel during early/mid summer in Scandinavia. Mornings and nights can still be a little windy in some parts and it is generally advisable to bring along a comfortable sweater and a cardigan or two (or 1-2 light jackets). That way, you can layer clothing easily and comfortably. Travelers with a destination in Iceland need to bring warmer clothing. Furthermore, weatherproof raincoats and windbreakers, regardless of the season, are always a good idea for Scandinavia travelers to bring along. Tough and comfortable shoes are also essential for your vacation if you enjoy outdoor activities.

Thanks L....I had found the same information. It is strange-most of the hotels in Denmark are booked around the 1st of June. Just might be a coincidence. Thanks for all the research!
