Re: Germany
Your message obviously got truncated. There currently aren't any Luxury Link packages available that I could see. There was one for Heidelberg, so keep watching. However, we have stayed at a beautiful Relaix&Chateaux property called Der Schafshof in the nearby Spessart forrest. The Schafshof is a wonderful Inn with luxurious accommodates, great food and wine and lots of sheep in the meadows. We went there in the spring with all the apple trees in blum, what a glorious site. I remember visiting the near by water-ringed hunting castle, called Schloss Mespelbrunn and was very impressed with this little gem, stuck in the middle of no-where. Der Schafshof is about a 45 minute drive from the Frankfurt/Main airport.

My husband and I stayed at the luxury link in Heidelburg, which is about 1 hour south by train from Frankfurt. The place was wonderful, they came through with all that they said they would, nice big suite, great food, and the town is very nice. Enought to keep us busy for 3 days. Lots of shops and restaurants, nice walks and the castle is a nice tour. We flew into Frankfort and took a train to Cologne, spent two days there and than a train to Heidelberg and back to Frankfort. We used the rail europe for 2 train pass and it worked out great most of the ride from cologene was along the Rhine great views.

Hi daldoc,
Glad the LL Heidelberg package worked out for you. I had looked at that package at times, but then always opted for some other destinations in Germany since I had been to Heidelberg a number of times before. My husband and I have biked all over Germany since they have wonderful bike paths there that really go long distances. We have biked along the Rhine river and the Moselle and along the Danube from its source to Vienna in Austria. How did you like Heidelberg?

hi
we liked it alot. we went there for Thanksgiving. we don't have much family so we usually go to Europe for the week, Easy to get deals there. the weather was so so but we enjoyed the city and castle. plenty to do in the 3 days we were there and the LL auction was great. place was great, and in a location easy to get around from. Came by train so we are always looking for places you don't need a car for. cuts down on the expense. would like to return to the area in the fall to go along the rivers. looks like it would be spectacular.
