PARIS - FRANCE - LA PINACOTHÈQUE DE PARIS -- To Sept. 14: "Les Soldats de l'Éternité."
LA PINACOTHQUE DE PARIS -- To Sept. 14: "Les Soldats de l'ternit." No longer buried, the Xi'an terra-cotta warriors (whose authenticity was the subject of a controversy in Hamburg last year, leading to the early closing of an exhibition) seem to travel the world: (London, Rome and now, Paris and California). On loan from the Museum of Art and History of the Shaanxi Province in China, 20 warriors and a selection of objects -- bronze bells, vessels and various ornaments -- are on display. They date to the Qin dynasty (221-206 B.C.), when the First Emperor of China unified the country and created his own tomb guarded by an army of several thousands terra-cotta figures. -- www.pinacotheque.com
