Santorini properties
OK....Anyone visit Santorini recently? Anyone use the LL property group; Andronis? Vedema Luxury Collection? Anyone know about Voreina Gallery Suites? Thanks so much for any assistance or ideas. Also, any ideas for location? We do not need night life or crowds. Would rather enjoy a quiet location.

It's been about 10 years, but we stayed at Rocabella Resort & Spa & had a great experience there. It's in a quiet area, a couple kilometers outside Imerovigli. In reviewing the property info online recently, it looks like it's been expanded some since we were there. When you see an aerial view of the property, you see it's in the middle of nowhere, between the towns of Fira and Ola (4 pools now & more rooms). We were there at the end of May; it was quiet, few guests & service was great. The views from the suites and from anywhere at the resort are AWESOME, especially the sunsets, since the resort is on the edge of the caldera. If you like to hike, there is a path there that runs along the edge from one area to the next. You can hike all the way from Fira to Oia.
We rented a car and drove all over the island. Be sure you know what a No Parking sign looks like - we didn't! One day in Fira we came back to our car but it was gone!
We arrived at Santorini on a ferry, which I recommend because the initial view is memorable, and flew out when we left. While in town one day, we rode the cable car down and rode up on the donkeys! Also be sure to visit Akrotiri, the well preserved excavation site of the town that was buried in a massive volcanic eruption, 17th century B.C.

I was living in Crete a few years ago and had a chance to visit Santorini for 5 days. Definitely worthwhile! Hands down the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen in my life...If you are looking for something quiet, try the Andronis Luxury Suites in Oja would be a great option. VERY quiet, and still close to Thira where you at least want to try a few restaurants or do some shopping, or if you are looking for a bit of adventure, try the donkey train. Vedema Resort is also a good option - Fodor's rated it Santorini's most deluxe hotel!
As for how you get to Santorini- there are many options. Plane of course is the quickest. I did the high speed catamaran -which was quite a bumpy ride even for seasoned locals. A regular ferry would be nice if you are not in a rush to get there. Try and squeeze in at least one other island like Crete or Mykonos while you are there. Each island has its own flavor/flair.
KALISPERA!
Enjoy your trip!

WOW....thank you. I love the ideas! We just were in Crete in May and LOVED IT! We spent time on the Libyan Sea side of the island. I think you convinced me to add Santorini. I have heard about the beautiful sunsets and have heard to take a ferry there. I think we will ferry over from Naxos.
