Terminus hotel in lake como, LL property
Has anyone stayed in this hotel? Is Lake Como worth a 3 night stay? Seems like others have suggested
going to Bellagio instead. Arriving in Milan, so either is ok, except no LL packages except in Lake Como.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, has anyone been to Trieste?

12-28-2010, 01:27 AMHotel terminus is fine. Bellagio is a bit isolated and touristy for a 3 day stay and is better just to visit by ferry for the day. Como is a good place to stay, as are Argegno and Lenno, as both are small villages with good ferry access to all parts of the lake. Try Albergo Lenno in lenno or Belvedere in Argegno. Or for a family run alternative to the Terminus in Como town, try Albergo della Duca. Trieste is also an amazing city. I visted on my way to Croatia. Well worth stopping for a night or 2.

Hi runaround,
Hotel Terminus is ok. We have not stayed there, but I have never stayed at a bad place with LL. We also visited the Bellagio. However, as lakecomoexpert said, the Bellagio is a bit isolated if you want to drive to other parts of Lake Como, but there are many ferries to visit other parts on the lake. While in the Italian Lake Region, you might also want to visit Lago Maggiore and Lake Orto. We saw both places at Lake Como when we stayed with a 4-night LL package at Villa Aminta, www.villa-aminta.it/ at Stresa at the Lago Maggiore. While visiting Lago Maggiore you might want to visit the Borromee Islands directly across from Stresa. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borromean_Islands.
If you are interested in staying at Lago Maggiore, LL has packages at Verbania http://www.luxurylink.com/luxury-hot...stic?clid=2426. Nearby, there is also Lake Orto which is interesting to visit and LL has a package there as well. http://www.luxurylink.com/luxury-hot...respi?clid=312. We visited Villa Crespi, but I was not impressed by it. The morish castle-like hotel sits up on a hill and it is a long walk down to the lake and an even longer way up....
What time of the year are you planning to visit Lake Como and what is your itinerary? Let me know if I can be of any help
Kind Regards,
