I found this the other day and it looks like an amazing short trip! I’m really thinking about doing it. The price looks reasonable as well. Might be perfect combined with a LL hotel stay somewhere in Spain or Portugal ;-)

I looked at your link and agree with you that this would be a nice side trip, combined with an LL package.
It is, however, a little off the beaten path for first time visitors to Spain. We might look into it when we are back in Germany this Spring. It would lend itself for a nice weekend or short side trip.

Where in Europe are you located?

Yeah it's definitely not in a region most people would think of visiting, but in a way that's great becuase you get to see a non-touristic area.. and then maybe take the national train of a flight to spend some time in a more popular place like Barcelona or Andalucia. Btw Spain has a great low cost airline, in case you arent familiar with it, called Vueling. I've flown on the a few times and have always had a pretty good experience considering the low price of the tickets.

I'm located in Florida but part time in the Netherlands for my job. I also do trips to many other European countries for work so I tend to tack on alot of side trips It's such a wonderful oportunity. I love exploring Europe.

I have heard of Vueling but I am not sure they cover Germany out of Munich. When we used to live in Paris, we used easyjet.com and ryanair.com, both of which were cheap, and quite good until ryanair started to nickle and dime everybody to death with ridiculous charges. In Germany I like airberlin.com, but then Lufthansa is pretty good too and has rock bottom prices between Munich and Paris and many other european cities, if you have the luxury of making your bookings well in advance.
You are lucky that you can do some exploring of European countries with the bulk of the cost (overseas airline fees) still covered by your company. We are retired and love Europe. We do as much exploring as we can from a fixed point in Germany. As of late, we have added a small car, so we are even more mobile.
Right now, we are enjoying the balmy weather in Florida and then back to Germany in mid-March with hopefully a little snow left to still get some skiing in. After that, we are ready for Spring time in the Alps, a wonderful time of the year when the mountains are still snow-capped, but the apple blossoms and all the wild flowers are out in the valley meadows.
