We'll be arriving in Brussels Sept 27, staying 2 nights. Any suggestions re hotels, places to eat, getting around? Should we stay in Brussels and day trip to Bruges, Ghent etc? or is it better to stay in Ghent, Bruges?



Also, we'll be in Stuttgart, Germany October 7 and 8, leaving October 9. Any suggestions re hotels, places to eat, sights etc?



Help would be much appreciated!

As you are probably used to U.S. distances, please let me tell you first of all that Belgium is about the size of Maryland.

So you understand that it does not matter to much where you will be staying.



If I would come down here for 2 days (being a belgian citizen) I would recommend Brughes. This being by far the most beautiful city in Belgium. Brughes lies about 60 miles from Brussels and in between (at about 30 miles from Brussels) lies Ghent. Please stop there on your way to Brughes.



The list of hotels and restaurants is infinite, so it is very hard to recommend something. Talking about this subject please forget your "tipping habit" when you are in Europe. It will probably save you a lot of money.
