Well, the KNOW approach has certainly been working in my favor with regards to assistance from the various hotels in Peru with my last minute cancellation and reschedule/expiration extension requests.

I have been able to contact the decision makers immediately.

This is where KNOW came into play. Things got upside down with my travel partner one week from departure, which translated to taking a big hit on my air tickets.

Fortunately I had gotten to KNOW the contacts at each of the Orient-Express properties as well as the Aranwa property, so I was able to secure a delay for the use of my packages.

Hey guys it was a long and exciting ride yesterday from the airport in Ariquipa across the Andes and down here into the Colca Canyon, but I enjoyed every minutes. Even photographs really don't exhibit the beauty of this place. I have never felt more energized than waking up this morning, walking out on my patio and being met by this awesome view.

Getting ready to have lunch shortly than heading out for horseback riding deeper into the canyon. Gotta hand it to Orient-Express, they really know how to treat their guests.

Just finished breakfast here at the Miraflores Park in Lima. What a lovely hotel and wonderful staff. Gotta say, Orient-Express really knows the hospitality business. Leaving tomorrow. More when I return.
